The purpose of this study is to develop a general education course model that applies design thinking to enhance university students’ understanding of sustainability and to foster their creative problem-solving abilities. To this end, prior studies on the SDGs and design thinking were reviewed to design the course model, and step-by-step instructional strategies were derived to ensure its appropriateness as a general education subject. Furthermore, the model was refined through expert review to assess its applicability in actual classroom settings. The evaluation criteria included the validity of the model’s structure and procedures, the usefulness for instructional practice, the appropriateness of content and context, the generalizability to diverse courses, and the ease of user understanding. Based on these results, a teaching–learning toolkit was developed to address SDG themes through the design thinking process. This study contributes to general education courses by proposing an instructional model that not only aligns with the values and goals of the SDGs but also effectively cultivates the SDGs related core competencies required of future university students.

본 연구는 대학생들의 지속가능성에 대한 이해를 증진하고 창의적 문제 해결 능력을 향상시키기 위해 디자 인씽킹을 적용한 교양 수업 모델을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 SDGs와 디자인씽킹 관련 선행연 구를 분석하여 수업 모델을 설계하고, 교양 교과목으로서의 적합성을 높이기 위해 단계별 운영 전략을 도출하 였다. 또한 실제 적용 가능성을 검토하기 위하여 전문가 집단의 검토를 거쳐 모델을 정련하였다. 전문가 검토 는 구성 및 절차의 타당성, 수업 활용의 유용성, 내용과 맥락의 적절성, 다양한 교과에의 적용 가능성, 사용자 이해 용이성 등을 기준으로 이루어졌으며, 그 결과를 반영하여 SDGs 주제를 디자인씽킹 절차에 따라 다룰 수 있는 교수-학습 툴킷을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 대학 교양교육에서 SDGs의 가치와 목적에 부합하면서, 미래 대 학생에게 요구되는 핵심 역량을 효과적으로 함양할 수 있는 교수-학습 모형을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
