The purpose of this study is to set up a teaching strategy for the development of students?creative thinking in the social studies education. I investigated the following contents to accomplish this study? purpose. First of all, I suggest the decision-making & problem-solving in relation to improve creative thinking skills in the social studies education. And I set up a teaching strategy for the development of student? creative thinking in the social studies education. ①To understand the process of decision-making & problem-solving → ②To practice thinking techniques → ③To analyze examples. After that, I investigated three stages of the teaching strategy as follows. I set up an instructional process for the problem-solving in the social studies education. ①To find out problems → ②To develop their alternatives → ③To evaluate the alternatives → ④To choose good alternatives among them and plan their practice.

본 연구의 목적은 사회과에서 창의적 사고력을 기르기 위한 교수-학습 전략을 구안하는 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같은 내용을 검토하였다. 우선, 사회과 교육에서 창의적 사고력 신장과 가장 관련성이 깊은 사고 기능을 ‘의사결정과 문제해결’로 보았다. 그리고, 사회과에서 창의적 사고력 육성을 위한 교수-학습 전략으로서, ①의사결정과 문제해결 과정 이해하기 → ②다양한 사고 기법 익히기 → ③사례 분석하기의 3단계 활동을 제안하였다. 그런 다음, 교수-학습 전략에 관련된 내용을 다음과 같이 검토하였다. 우선, 사회과에서 의사결정과 문제해결 능력 육성을 위하여 단위수업에 적용할 수 있는 수업과정을 ①문제 파악 → ②대안 개발 → ③대안 평가 → ④대안 선택 및 실행계획으로 설정하여 제시하였다. 그리고 앞에서 설정한 수업과정에 따른 수업 사례로서 ‘우리 음식의 세계화’ 문제를 해결하는 활동을 통해 사고 기법을 익히고 문제 사례를 분석하는 활동을 살펴보았다.
