The purpose of this study is to explore the potentiality of teaching portfolio that is an efficient strategy to enhance reflective thinking in teacher's professional development, The idea of 'reflective practitioner' for the education of professionals, asserted by Schon in 1983 is being searched as essential concept for teacher education with educational philosophy of constructivism today. Teaching portfolio is a collection of information about a teacher's practise. Educators have used portfolios to assess student performance for many years. Now they have to turn their attention to portfolio for their professional growth. In this study I presented the new trend of thinking teachers professionalism and reflection closely related to teacher's professional growth. This study also introduced development process of teaching portfolio and suggested to connect it through pre-service education to in-service education by idea of PDS and web based portfolio.

본 연구의 목적은 교사의 전문능력 개발에 있어서 반성적 사고의 강화를 위하여 효과적 전략이 될 수 있는 티칭 포트폴리오의 활용방안을 탐색해 보고자 하는 것이다. 전문인 교육에 관하여 Schon(1983)이 주장한 ‘반성적 실천’의 아이디어는 근래에 들어 구성주의적 교육관과 함께 교사교육의 기본적 관점으로 연구되고 있다. 포트폴리오 또한 대안적 평가방법의 하나로 소개되어 그 활용방법에 대한 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 그동안 교사들은 학생들을 평가하기 위해 포트폴리오를 사용해 왔지만 이제는 교사 자신들의 전문성을 신장시키기 위한 포트폴리오에 관심을 두어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 교사의 전문능력과 반성적 사고의 관계, 그리고 반성적 사고를 위한 효과적 도구이지만 아직 우리에게 익숙하지 않은 티칭 포트폴리오의 개발과정과 활용사례를 소개하면서 이를 교사의 평생에 걸친 경력개발의 하나로 접근해 가길 제언한다.
