This study investigates the translation strategies of Korean and Japanese literary works, focusing particular attention to the novels of Han Kang—an area that has been largely overlooked in previous scholarly research. The key findings are as follows: First, there is a pressing need to establish a standardized framework for translation strategies in Korean and Japanese literary works. While maintaining a creative level of translation, it is essential to avoid overly imitative approaches. Developing a model for literary translation strategies that enhances translation quality is a critical priority. Secondly, considering the unique characteristics of literary texts, it is especially important to collect a wide range of dialogue examples. This will help refine the “Standard Model and Rubric Table for Korean–Japanese Literary Translation” with a greater amount of precision. Finally, while there are clear limitations in AI–based translation, it is important to analyze how these AI tools (such as Chat–GPT) can be effectively utilized for future literary translation efforts— particularly in the translation related education field. This study highlights the clear differences between human translator outputs and AI–generated translations, emphasizing the importance of addressing the limitations of AI translation. It is crucial to develop strategies that enable users—especially translation learners—to utilize ChatGPT more effectively during literary translation. In this process, particular attention should be paid to structural differences in sentence construction, methods of inversion, subject–predicate linkage, techniques for shifting parts of speech, as well as sociolinguistic and discourse–analytic elements.

본 연구는 선행 연구에서 등한시되어 온 한일 문학 작품의 번역 전략에 대해, 한강(Han Kang)의 소설을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한일 문학 작품의 번역 전략에 대한 표준 모델을 구축할 필요성이 있다. 창의적인 수 준을 유지하면서도, 적어도 ‘모방적인’ 번역만큼은 반드시 피해야 할 것이다. 번역의 질을 향 상시키는 데 도움이 되는 문학 번역 전략의 모델 구축은 시급한 과제이다. 둘째, 문학 작품의 특성을 고려할 때, 특히 대화문의 용례를 많이 수집하여, ＜한일 문학 작품의 번역 표준 모델 및 루브릭표＞를 더욱 정교화하는 것이 중요하다. 셋째, Chat GPT 번역에는 분명 한계가 있다. 그렇지만, 향후 문학 작품의 번역(특히, 번역 교육 포함)에 있어서 이를 어떻게 효율적으로 활용할 수 있을지를 염두에 두고 분석을 진행 하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서 고찰한 번역가의 번역본과 Chat GPT 번역본 사이에서 차이가 뚜렷하게 드러 나는 부분 ,즉 Chat GPT 번역의 한계를 어떻게 극복하고 해소할 것인지, 그리고 이용자(혹은 학습자)가 이를 보다 효율적으로 활용할 수 있도록 전략을 마련하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 과정에서 예를 들어, 문구조의 차이, 문을 도치하는 방법, 주술(主述) 관계의 연결, 품사전환 기법, 사회언어적적 요소 및 담화분석적 요소 등은 특히 주의할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 최근 Chat GPT 번역과 같은 일종의 진화하고 있는 번역 도구를 교 육 현장에서 어떻게 효율적으로 활용할 수 있을지에 대한 문제 제기에 대한 하나의 답으로 서, 「한일 문학 번역의 표준 모델 및 루브릭 표」를 제시한 것이다.
