This study explored the concept-based curriculum, which is the theoretical background of the 2022 revised curriculum, in time for its application and based on this, examined concept-based teaching and learning methods focusing on elements related to jandan. To this end, the concept-based curriculum and teaching and learning methods were first examined. As a result, It was found that concept-based curriculum emerged with an emphasis on intellectual integration and transferable conceptual understanding that can systematically process the rapidly increasing of knowledge and information in future society. It is characterized by the pursuit of synergy between conceptual understanding and thinking, the structure of knowledge and processes leading to conceptual understanding, and three-dimensional curriculum and instruction models. Also, It was found that concept-based teaching and learning methods emphasize learning based on the structure of knowledge and processes, teaching methods that approach facts, functions, and concepts in three dimensions. Based on this review of concept-based curriculum, the suitability of concept-based teaching and learning methods in Korean music education was explored. It is revealed that conceptual learning has been an importance aspect of music education, making it necessary to learn the concepts of Korean music. Moreover, the large proportion of Korean music concepts among the music elements presented in the curriculum and the closeness between these concepts make concept-based teaching and learning methods suitable for Korean music education. It was also concluded that concept-based teaching should be applied to clearly define Korean music concepts and to systematically and accurately form these concepts. In line with this need and relevance, specifically concept-based teaching and learning methods were explored to properly and deeply understand concepts of meter, jandan, rhythm patterns of jandan, accents of jandan, hanbae, changes of hanbae among the elements related to jandan. As a result, teaching and learning methods that reflect the intrinsic characteristics of these concepts were developed, such as the teaching and learning method of jangdan based on the aggregation theory of combining lower-level meters to create upper-level meters, the teaching and learning method for understanding rhythm patterns of jandan and accents of jandan, which reflect the roles of connecting and concluding, and the teaching and learning method for recognizing the concept of hanbae, which contains the concept of distance or length. These methods were concretely and systematically explored and presented along with relevant themes and activity examples.

본 연구는 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정의 적용 시기에 맞추어 개정 교육과정의 이론적 배 경인 개념 기반 교육과정을 고찰하고 이를 바탕으로 하여 국악의 개념적 이해를 위한 방안으 로 장단 관련 요소 중심의 개념 기반 교수ㆍ학습 방법을 모색해 보았다. 이를 위해 먼저 개념 기반 교육과정과 교수ㆍ학습 방법을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 개념 기반 교육과정은 미래 사회에서 폭증하는 지식과 정보를 체계적으로 소화할 수 있는 지적 통합과 전이가 가능한 개념적 이해가 강조되면서 발생한 것으로 개념적 이해와 사고의 시너지 추구, 개념적 이해에 이르는 지식과 과정의 구조, 3차원 교육과정과 수업 모델을 특징으로 함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 개념 기반 교수ㆍ학습 방법은 지식과 과정의 구조에 기반한 학습과 사실, 기능, 개념 등 3차원적으로 접근하는 수업 방식을 강조함을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 개념 기반 교육과정의 고찰을 토대로 국악 교육에서 개념 기반 교수ㆍ학습 방법 의 적합성을 탐색하였는데 음악 교육에서는 개념 학습을 중요하게 다루어왔으므로 국악의 개념 학습이 필요하며, 교육과정에 제시된 음악 요소에서 국악 개념이 차지하는 비중이 크고 개념 간에 밀접성이 있으므로 국악 교육에서 개념 기반 교수ㆍ학습 방법이 적합하고, 국악 개념의 명확한 정립과 체계적이고 올바른 개념 형성을 위해서는 개념 기반 수업이 적용되어 야 함을 밝혔다. 그리고 이러한 필요성과 적합성에 따라 장단 관련 요소 중 박, 장단, 장단꼴, 장단의 세, 한배, 한배의 변화 등의 개념을 제대로 깊이 있게 이해할 수 있는 개념 기반 교수ㆍ학습 방법 을 구체적으로 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 개념의 본질적 특성을 반영한 교수ㆍ학습 방법으로 하층 위 박을 집합하여 상층위 박을 만드는 집합론에 기반한 장단의 교수ㆍ학습 방법, 달고 맺는 역할을 반영한 장단꼴과 장단의 세 이해를 위한 교수ㆍ학습 방법, 거리 또는 길이 개념을 담고 있는 한배의 길이 개념 인식 교수ㆍ학습 방법 등을 개발하여 주제와 활동 사례까지 구 체적이고 단계적으로 모색하여 제시하였다.
