This study examines the potential of new media content to improve public perception of juvenile offenders and reduce recidivism. A 2006 survey by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea found social stigma to be a primary cause of recidivism among juvenile offenders, as prejudice hinders reintegration. This study conducted interviews and analyzed new media content to assess its effect on public attitudes. Findings indicate that new media content can positively change public attitudes, fostering understanding. This study also emphasizes the necessity of utilizing new media to cultivate an informed and supportive community, advocating for broader application and further research on a national scale.

본 연구는 뉴미디어 콘텐츠가 청소년 범죄자에 대한 대중의 인식을 개선하고 재범률을 감소시킬 수 있다는 가능성을 탐구한다. 2006년 대한민국 국가인권위원회의 조사에 따르면, 사회적 낙인은 청소년 범죄자가 재범을 일으 키는 주요 원인으로 나타났으며, 이는 결국 청소년 범죄자의 재사회화를 방해하는 요소로 작용했다. 본 연구에서는 뉴미디어 콘텐츠의 분석과 대중 인터뷰를 통해 뉴미디어가 대중의 태도 변화에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 연구 결 과, 뉴미디어 콘텐츠가 대중들로 하여금 청소년 범죄자에 대한 이해를 돕고, 긍정적으로 태도를 변화시키는 것에 효 과적임을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 뉴미디어를 활용하여 포용적인 공동체 형성의 필요성을 강조하며, 이를 전국 적으로 확대 적용 및 추가 연구가 필요하다는 점을 제안한다.
