This study explored the experience and perception of family center members participating in educational programs from the perspective of mutual culture practice, embodied the concept of mutual culture practice, and further suggested the direction of various mutual culture discourse. To achieve this, in-depth interviews were conducted with eight administrators working at family centers in the metropolitan area and eight institutional users who had learning experiences in the educational programs of family centers. Furthermore, an analysis of in-depth interviews was conducted based on prior research that defined mutual cultural practice as a societal behavior exploring a coexistent society through active communication and reflection, grounded in the recognition and respect for cultural diversity. Institutional users practice intercultural of communication and reflection with people from various cultural backgrounds through the family center's educational program. Through educational programs, we practice mutual cultures that expand our understanding of self-culture and other cultures, and in them, we reveal seven meaningful contents that our society will seriously reflect on. Institutional operators also communicate with institutional users while operating the family center's education program, and naturally perform social actions of intercultural practice. Experience and reflection accumulated while operating an educational program are the process and result of Intercultural practice, and there are nine implications presented as an institutional operator in this study. The Intercultural cultural practice between institutional users and institutional operators, who are members of the family center, was confirmed through the operation and participation process of the educational program. Intercultural practice is a practical and specific social action to seek a coexistence society, and the intercultural practice that takes place in family centers should be expanded and developed into our society.

본 연구는 상호문화 실천의 관점에서 가족센터 구성원의 교육 프로그램 참여 경험 및 인식을 탐색하여 새롭게 정립한 상호문화 실천의 개념을 구체화하고 나아가 다양한 상호문화 담론의 지향점을 제시하는 데 목표가 있다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재의 가족센 터에서 근무하는 기관운영자 8명과 가족센터의 교육 프로그램에서 학습 경험이 있는 기관사용자 8명을 직접 만나 심층 면담을 하였다. 교육 프로그램을 매개로 한 기관운영 자와 기관사용자의 경험과 인식을 상호문화 실천의 사례로 접근해서 그 내용을 분석한 것이다. 그 결과, 기관사용자는 교육 프로그램에 학습자로서 참여해 다양한 문화 배경을 가 진 사람들과 소통과 성찰이라는 상호문화 실천을 경험하며 자문화와 타문화 상호문화 에 대한 이해가 확장되고 있었다. 먼저, 다른 국적의 기관사용자와의 만남에서 상호작 용을 통한 자문화 재인식, 타문화에 대한 이해와 존중 그리고 상호문화 관계 속에서의 교집합을 경험하였다. 또한 프로그램을 통해 만난 기관운영자와는 상호문화 이해 부족 으로 인한 갈등, 사용자와 운영자 간 소통의 부재, 한국어 강사와의 소통 및 지원 경험 이라는 부정 및 긍정의 경험을 상호문화 실천의 결과로서 동시에 경험하고 있었다. 기관운영자도 가족센터의 교육 프로그램을 운영하면서 기관사용자와의 관계 속에서 자연스럽게 상호문화 실천이라는 사회적 행위를 하고 있었다. 실무자로서의 프로그램 운영은 곧 상호문화 실천이고, 이 가운데 긍정 및 비판적 경험을 하며 기관운영자는 다음과 같은 문화교육 방향을 제안하였다. 첫 번째가 이론과 체험을 융합한 체험융합형 상호문화교육이고, 두 번째가 교육 내용뿐 아니라 교육 방식에서도 결혼이주여성 주도 의 상호문화 교육이다. 본격적으로 다문화사회가 된 지 20년 이상이 된 현재에는 기관 사용자이면서 동시에 기관운영자이기도 한 이주민이 많고, 그들을 학습자뿐 아니라 교 수자로 인정하며 구성원의 역량 강화를 도모해야 한다. 이처럼 가족센터의 핵심 구성원인 기관사용자와 기관운영자 간의 교육 프로그램을 매개로 한 상호문화 실천의 결과, 가족센터의 현재의 문제점과 나아가 지향할 프로그 램의 방향성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이것은 가족센터의 운영을 위한 지침이 될 것이며, 무엇보다 상호문화 실천의 결과이다. 상호문화 실천은 공존사회 모색을 위한 실천적이 고 구체적인 사회적 행위이고, 가족센터에서 이루어지는 상호문화 실천이 우리 사회로 확장 및 발전되어야 할 것이다.
