The purpose of this study is to derive the sportsmanship construct of elementary school students, and to develop a scale based on this and verify its validity. To attain this goal, 22 experts in related fields and 1,045 elementary school students participated in the study, and the results are derived through appropriate procedures. First, 271 core themes related to sportsmanship of elementary school students were extracted through in-depth interviews, and the validity of the content was verified in 5 constructive concepts and 11 detailed areas. Second, sportsmanship scale consisting of 30 items with 5 factors was developed by descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Third, the developed scale secured the validity of the external structure through the concurrent validation and cross validation procedures. The sportsmanship scale of elementary school students consists of the best(7 items), relative respect(5 items), team cooperation(7 items), result recognition(6 items), honesty(5 items) and is expected to evaluate the level of sportsmanship of elementary school students more accurately.

이 연구는 초등학생들의 스포츠맨십 구성개념을 도출하고, 이를 토대로 척도를 개발하여 타당성을 검증하는데 목적 이 있다. 목적달성을 위해 관련분야 전문가 22명, 초등학생 1,045명이 연구에 참여하였고, 적합한 절차를 통해 결 과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 심층면담을 통해 초등학생들의 스포츠맨십과 관련한 핵심주제를 271개 추출하였고, 5개의 구성개념과 11개 세부영역에 대한 내용타당성을 검증하였다. 둘째, 기술통계와 신뢰도 분석, 탐색적 및 확인적 요 인분석의 의해 5요인 30문항으로 구성된 스포츠맨십 척도를 개발하였다. 셋째, 개발된 척도는 공인타당도와 교차타 당도 검증절차를 통해 외적 구조의 타당성을 확보하였다. 초등학생들의 스포츠맨십 척도는 최선(7문항), 상대존중(5 문항), 팀 협동(7문항), 결과인정(6문항), 정직(5문항)으로 구성되었고, 초등학생들의 스포츠맨십 수준을 보다 정확 하게 평가할 것으로 기대한다.
