The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of elementary school teachers and students on the aims of making activity in Practical Arts. For the purpose, the subjects of study were 64 teachers and 410 students. The data were analyzed by frequency, descriptive statistics and t-test. The findings of this study are as follows. First, elementary school teachers highly recognized aims of making activity as technical, affective and social domains. On the other hand, students were on lower average than teachers in knowledge, thinking ability, technical, affective and social domains. Second, gender was an important variable that affected the teachers’ perception on aims of making activity. Female teachers were more aware than male teachers that making activities were related to knowledge, thinking ability, technical, affective and social domains. Third, the gender of the student did not affect the perception on aims of the making activity. Fourth, the perception on the aims of making activity of teachers and students differed in technical, affective and social domains.

본 연구는 실과 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 교사의 학생의 인식을 분석함으로써 효과적인 수업 설계와 교수학습 자료 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 위하 여 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 교사와 학생의 인식 정도, 성별에 따른 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 인식 차이, 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 교사와 학생의 인식 차이를 분석하였다. 연구 대상은 교사 64명, 학생 410명이었고, 자료 분석은 빈도분석, 기술통계, t-검정에 의해 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사는 만들기 활동을 기능적 영역, 정의적 영역, 사회적 영역의 목적으로 인식하는 경향 이 높은 편이었다. 반면, 학생은 지식, 사고력, 기능적, 정의적, 사회적 영역 모두에서 교사보다 낮 은 평균을 보였다. 둘째, 성별은 교사의 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 인식에 영향을 미치는 유의미 한 변수였다. 여교사는 남교사보다 만들기 활동이 지식, 사고력, 기능적, 정의적, 사회적 영역의 목 적과 관련되어 있다고 인식하는 경향이 높았다. 셋째, 학생의 성별은 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 인식에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 그러나 하위요인 중 흥미와 관심을 높이는 것에 관련된 정의적 영역 에서는 여학생의 인식이 남학생보다 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 만들기 활동의 목적에 대한 교사와 학생 의 인식은 기능적 영역, 정의적 영역, 사회적 영역에서 차이가 나타났다.
