This study aimed to develop the Career Interest-Picture Inventory for the elementary students. The 1st items-occupation were selected on the basis of Holland’s RIASEC model, through the examination on the elementary school texts, Career-Net, and Korean Occupation Dictionary, the investigation on the researches and measurements related to career interest, and the survey about elementary students’ likely occupations. The picture cards of 100 items-occupation were illustrated by professional artist, in order that the job descriptions were perceived by 3rd grade children at least. The final 60 items-picture were chosen through the content validity examination by career counseling professionals, elementary teachers and elementary students. The subject were 2065 elementary students(4-6 grade) for the examinations on basic statistics, reliability, and construct validity, and 107 elementary students(4-6 grade) for concurrent validity. The results showed that the reliability was good, but the empirical data of this study were completely not matched with Holland’s RIASEC model. The correlation career interest with self-regulatory learning was partly significant by interest types, and the difference of career interest type was meaningful by gender. Finally some useful plan and implication for career education and counseling practice were discussed.

이 연구는 초등학생용 진로흥미 그림검사를 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 Holland의 RIASEC 모델을 이론적 토대로 초등학교 교과서와 커리어넷, 한국직업사전, 국내외 진로흥미 관련 연구와 측정도구들을 탐색하고, 초등학생을 대상으로 희망직업을 조사한 결과를 반영하여 검사의 최초 문항 선정을 하였다. 최초 선정된 100개 문항의 직업을 직업사전에 제시된 직무 활동의 내용을 반영하여 초등학교 3학년 수준의 학생이 이해할 수 있도록 직무 활동이 표현된 삽화로 제작하였다. 삽화의 제작은 전문 화가에게 의뢰하였으며, 제작된 그림문항에 대하여 진로상담전문가와 초등교사, 초등학생을 대상으로 문항의 검토과정을 거쳐 총 60문항을 최종 선정하였다. 최종 선정된 문항에 대하여 초등학교 4-6학년 2065명을 대상으로 문항별 통계와 신뢰도를 산출하고, 검사의 구성타당도 및 공인타당도 검증을 위하여 요인분석과 자기조절학습능력 검사와의 상관분석을 하였으며, 성에 따른 진로흥미 유형의 차이를 검증한 결과를 보고하였다. 검증결과, 신뢰도는 양호한 것으로 나타났으며, 측정 자료가 대체로 Holland의 RIASEC 흥미구조를 반영하고 있었으나 사회형 문항의 경우는 RIASEC 흥미구조와 다소 다른 양상을 보였다. 자기조절학습능력은 진로흥미와 대체로 유의한 상관관계를 나타냈으나 진로흥미유형에 따라 상관관계의 양상에는 다소간 차이가 있었다. 성별 진로흥미 유형의 분포에는 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 개발된 검사를 진로교육과 상담 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 방안과 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.
