of Dae gu university is a subject, the purpose of which is a connection of reading great books and writing book reviews. In this paper was recommended the way to apply the J. Keller’s ARCS model in classes for lessening the students’ burdens to read several great books and motivating to write book reviews. Especially, to inspire students’ motivation, confidence, and satisfaction, in this paper was emphasized the way to connect the curriculum, and extra-curriculum, . To succeed the connective program, should be paid attention to not the number of books to read, but the book review’s quality. In addition to that, DU great books reviews should be given incentives for more students to apply for the contest. Also, professors’ feedbacks should be offered to study and research book reviews intensively. For the success of this program, DU University college professors and librarians should collaborate together, for example, professors could judge applicants’ reviews and give them feedbacks, and librarians would run the extra curriculum program, DU reading marathon contest effectively.

대구대학교의 <명저 읽기와 창의적 글쓰기> 교과목은 명저 읽기와 서평 쓰기를 연계한 교과목으로 설강, 운영되어 오고 있다. 하지만 교과목의 효율적인 운영을 위해 먼저 명저 읽기에 대한 학생들의 부담감을 덜어주고 서평 쓰기에 대한 동기를 유발하기 위해 본 논문에서는 J. Keller의 ARCS 모형을 적용하여 교수-학습 방안을 수업에 적용할 것을 제안하여 보았다. ARCS 모형 중 정규 강의만으로 채울 수 없었던 학생들의 읽기와 쓰기에 대한 동기, 자신감과 만족감을 높이고 학생들의 노력 및 성과에 대한 적절한 보상을 해주기 위해 대구대학교 비교과 프로그램인 와의 연계 방안을 제시해 보았다. 교과와 비교과 연계 프로그램의 성공을 위해서는 서평의 심사 기준을 읽은 도서의 권 수가 아닌 서평의 질을 기준으로 하여야 하며 DU 명저에 대한 서평의 경우 인센티브를 부여하여 관련 수업을 듣는 학생들이 더 많이 참여할 수 있도록 하여야 한다. 그리고 서평에 대한 전문 교수자의 심사와 피드백이 제공되고 공개되어 학생들과 교수자들이 이에 대해 학습할 기회를 부여해야 한다. 이를 위해서는 현재 도서관의 학술정보팀과 기초교육대학의 협업이 절실히 필요하다. 예를 들어 기초교육대학의 전문 교수진이 서평을 심사하고 이에 대한 피드백을 서평 응모 학생들에게 제공한다면 대회 자체가 행사 차원이 아닌 교육과의 연계성을 확보하는 방향으로 진행될 수 있을 것이다.
