The purpose of this study was to find the differences between gifted student and general students about the use of technological thinking disposition and utilization of meta-cognition on problem solving. And through this study, teachers can find properties to recommend student through technological thinking disposition and problem solving activities. The target of this study, technological thinking disposition and meta-cognition use of literature study survey, remake survey tools through the examination of expert. The subject of this study, fifth and sixth grade elementary school students were 297 invention talent students, and 451 general students, total 748 elementary school students. The reliability of the questionnaire that was used in the study, technological thinking disposition is a Cronbach’s a coefficient .959, in the course of solving problems the use of meta cognition was Cronbach’s a coefficient .961. Distribution and collection of data was done through personal service and e-mail, the data were analyzed utilizing SPSS 22.0K. Technological thinking disposition and in the course of solving problems the use of meta cognition were analyzed by survey tools t-verification and F-verification. The analysis result was modified and supplementation through the data analysis was reviewed by 3 experts. Major findings of this study were as follows; First, Invention gifted elementary student can see the higher technological thinking disposition than general students. Second, Invention gifted elementary student can see use more meta cognitions than general students through solving problems. Third, the high score of technological thinking disposition student will be higher score of utilization of meta cognition.

이 연구의 목적은 초등 발명영재의 특성을 기술적 사고 성향과 문제해결과정에서의 메타인지의 활용에 대하여 일반학생과 비교하여 파악하고자 한다. 또한 이 연구를 통하여 초등학교 발명영재를 선발할 때, 학생들의 기술적 사고 성향과 문제해결과정에서 나타날 발명영재성을 파악하는 근거 자료로 활용할 수 있다. 이 연구를 위하여 기술적 사고 성향과 메타인지 활용 관련 문헌조사, 전문가 검토를 통하여 조사 도구를 재구성하였다. 이 연구의 대상은 초등학교 5,6학년 초등발명영재학생 297명, 일반학생은 451명으로 총748명이었다. 연구에 사용된 설문지의 신뢰도는 기술적 사고 성향은 Cronbach’s α계수 .959이고, 문제해결과정에서 메타인지 활용은 Cronbach’s α계수 .961였다. 자료의 배부와 수집은 인편과 e-mail을 통해 이루어졌으며, 자료의 분석은 SPSS 22.0K를 활용하였다. 기술적 사고 성향과 문제해결과정에서의 메타인지 활용에 대한 비교는 조사도구를 통해 산출된 t-검증과 F-검증을 바탕으로 분석하였다. 자료의 분석 결과에 대해서는 전문가 3인의 검토를 받아 수정․보완 과정을 거쳤다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등 발명영재학생은 일반학생에 비해 기술적 사고 성향이 높다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 초등 발명영재학생은 문제해결과정에서 메타인지를 일반학생에 비해 높게 활용하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 기술적 사고 성향 점수가 높은 초등학생은 메타인지의 활용 점수가 높을 것이다.
