Regarding changes and issues in the curriculum revision of ethics in the 2015 integrated curriculum between liberal arts and natural sciences, this paper aims to outline a tentative draft of Life and Ethics and discuss the direction of improvement. The primary goal of Life and Ethics is to cultivate the ability of students to critically think and solve ethical problems in modern society based on various ethical viewpoints and to do moral behavior in real life. This paper examines the changes in characteristics, goals and contents of the subject Life and Ethics and discusses two issues of the revision plan. Three topics in newly developing curriculum are following. firstly, the optimalization of quantity and level of learning thema. secondly, the improvement of overlapping contents between Life and Ethics and other subjects such as Moral Education in middle school or Ethics and Thought, Integrated Society in high school. And, thirdly, the inclusion of ethical issues expected in the future. And two important issues related with such changes discussed, especially focused on the disproportionate emphasis on western ethics and the relevance of reduction of Korean Unification related learning thema. Since the characteristics, goals and contents of Life and Ethics discussed in this paper is not yet fixed. And so, there could be small or big changes in the process of complement. More discussion and collection various opinions and viewpoints on newly developing curriculum from members of ethics community should be intensified.

이 논문에서는 2015 문·이과 통합형 교육과정의 도덕과 개정 방향과 쟁점을 󰡔생활과 윤리󰡕 과목을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 󰡔생활과 윤리󰡕 과목은 다양한 윤리적 관점을 토대로 현대 사회의 여러 윤리 문제를 해결할 수 있는 능력을 함양하는데 목표를 두고 있다. 따라서 다른 도덕과 과목에 비해 도덕적 기술이 다루어질 여지가 큰 과목이다. 또한 윤리적 관점을 다른 영역, 이를테면 사회, 과학, 예술, 문화 등의 영역에 적용하는 과목이기 때문에 2015 문·이과 통합형 교육과정 총론에서 강조하는 융합적 사고가 일정부분 요구되는 과목이기도 하다. 이 논문에서는 2015 문·이과 통합형 교육과정 󰡔생활과 윤리󰡕 과목 개정 시안을 중심으로 과목의 성격과 목표, 내용체계의 변화, 그리고 변화 사항과 관련한 두 가지 핵심 쟁점을 논의한다. 개정 시안의 주요 변화 내용은 첫째, 내용지식 또는 학습 주제의 양과 수준 적정화, 둘째, 내용 중복 문제 개선과 내용 체계 조정, 셋째, 미래 사회에서 예상되는 윤리적 쟁점의 반영이다. 그리고 변화 사항과 관련한 두 가지 쟁점인 서양윤리 편중 문제와 통일 관련 내용 축소 문제를 논의하고 수정·보완된 내용체계를 제안하고자 한다. 이 논문에서 논의된 도덕과의 성격, 목표, 내용체계 등은 교육과정 개정 1차 연구의 결과물로서 최종적으로 확정된 사항이 아니므로 2차 연구의 진행 과정에서 변동이 있을 수 있다. 본 논문에서의 논의는 도덕과 공동체 구성원들의 다양한 의견과 관점을 수렴함으로써 개정 시안에 대한 추후 수정 작업 및 2차 연구 전개 과정에서 보다 나은 교육과정이 만들어질 수 있는 계기가 될 것이다.
