This is an exploratory study that is presented to compare the barriers to employment for technical high school students and commercial high school students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area. The barriers to employment are classified into both personal and social-environmental factor: Personal factors include career decision self-efficacy, lack of job readiness, parental disapproval, and financial difficulties while social-environmental factors include awareness social discrimination, lack of job-information, and the uncertainty of social-economic environment. The results of exploratory analysis are as follows: First, technical high school students are higher recognized than commercial high school students in the barriers to employment. Secondly, lack of job readiness, parental disapproval, lack of job-information, and the uncertainty of social-economic environment had a negative impact on the barriers to employment of technical high school students. Thirdly, low career decision self-efficacy, awareness social discrimination, lack of job-information, and the uncertainty of social-economic environment had a negative impact on the barriers to employment of commercial high school students. On the basis of these results, family, school, corporate and community should support students by considering the differences in the recognition of the Barriers to Employment.

본 연구는 공업계 고등학교와 상업계 고등학교 학생들의 취업장벽을 분석하여 학생의 취업과 관련된 진로지도를 통한 중소기업의 기능인력의 공급을 위한 연구로 대구 및 경북지역의 특성화고등학생을 대상으로 자료를 이용하여 탐색적으로 분석하고 있다. 실증분석의 결과, 공업계고등학교와 상업계고등학교의 계열간 진로결정자기효능감의 부족, 취업준비의 부족, 차별의 인식, 취업정보의 부족, 외부환경의 동태성에 대한 인식의 차이가 존재하며 공업계고등학생이 상업계고등학생에 비해 더 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 공업계 고등학생은 취업준비의 부족, 부모님의 반대, 취업정보의 부족, 외부환경의 동태성이 취업장벽에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 상업정보계 고등학생은 진로결정자기효능감의 부족, 차별의 인식, 취업정보의 부족, 외부환경의 동태성이 취업장벽에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로, 특성화고등학생의 계열간 인식의 차이를 고려하여 학생들의 취업장벽을 낮추어 줄 수 있는 실질적이고 구체적인 진로지도와 상담이 제공되어야 하며, 지속적인 가정, 학교. 중소기업 및 지역사회의 관심과 노력이 필요해 보인다.
