The purpose of the study was to provide the execute plans for the smart education for life science area of practical arts education in elementary schools. To achieve the purpose of the study, definition, needs, and historical technical background of smart education were analyzed and finally, the execute plans for smart education for the life science area of Practical Arts education were provided. The results of this study are as follows. First, applying smart education in life science area of Practical Arts education is inevitable because applying smart education is the stream of times and one of national policy in Korea. Second, the technical development was sufficiently established for applying smart education in Korea. Third, the execute plans for applying smart education in the life science area of Practical Arts education were provided in the study in a way of utilizing various smart technologies such as smart devices, SNS, collaboration learning, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Finally, the development plans for executing the smart education for life science area of practical arts education in elementary school were suggested including 'Constructing an educational environment', 'Building hardware and software infra', and 'Developing human resource'.

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 실과교과의 생명과학 영역의 내용에 대하여 스마트교육을 수행할 수 있는 전략 및 수행방안을 마련하는 데 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 스마트교육의 정의, 필요성, 시대적·기술적 배경을 분석하였고, 실과 생명과학 영역에서의 스마트교육 수행방안을 개발하였다. 연구의 결과, 첫째, 스마트교육은 시대적 흐름이자 국가 정책적 방향이므로 실과 생명과학 영역에서의 스마트교육 수행은 필수적으로 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 우리나라에서의 스마트교육 수행을 위한 기술적 기반은 충분히 구축되었다. 셋째, 실과 생명과학 영역에서의 스마트교육 수행 방안으로는 스마트기기, SNS, 협업학습, 가상현실 및 증강현실 기술을 이용한 방안이 있다. 생명과학 영역에서의 스마트교육 수행의 발전방안으로는 스마트교육 수행에 적합한 교육환경 구축, 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 인프라 구축, 그리고 인적자원의 효율적 양성이 제안되었다.
