This thesis investigated the literary characteristics of Changbusa and figured out how the author's opinion of the music and the poetry was reflected in his own poetic work. Changbusa was modeled on the previous poems such as Eobuga and Dosansibigok while it reflected its author's reality and recreated the tradition of the vernacular literature. Changbusa represented the reality of the author, Lee Hyoungsang, who quit office and decided to live as a scholar. It also reinvented the structural characteristics of a previous poetic genre, gyoungichega, and it used in a new way the poetic devices of Eobuga such as the refrain and the jibgu, a method of composing a poem through compiling existing poetic verses. In Changbusa, the theme of each stanza was highlighted by sensical refrains instead of nonsense one, and its meaning was enriched by the jibgu phrases. In these respects, this thesis concluded that Changbusa is not an imitation of the previous poems but the outcome of recreating the tradition of the vernacular poetry, based on Lee Hyoungsang's broad understanding of the vernacular poetic tradition. Changbusa was a realization of Lee Hyoungsang's notion of the music and the poetry, which pursued the classical ideal as well as the reality of the time.

본고에서는 <창부사>의 문학적 특성을 살펴보고 이를 통해 병와 이형상의 가악관이 그의 악부를 통해 실현된 양상을 밝혔다. <창부사>는 <어부가>나 <도산십이곡> 등 전대의 시가를 모방하면서도 작가 자신의 개인적․사회적 상황을 보다 반영하는 방향으로 개작되었으며, 그 과정에서 국문시가의 전통과 특성을 수용․재창조한 면모를 보여주었다. <창부사>는 환로에서 벗어나 영천의 호연정에 은거하며 처사로서 지내길 원하던 이형상 자신의 삶과 생각을 반영하여 처사의 일상과 즐거움을 보다 구체적으로 표현하였다. 또한 그것은 구조적 측면에서는 경기체가와 같은 전대 시가의 전통을 되살렸으며, 형식적 측면에서는 반복구와 집구 등 <어부가>의 시적 장치를 보다 효과적으로 활용하였다. <창부사>는 각 장의 내용과 부합하는 유의미한 반복구를 매 장마다 구성하여 각 장의 주제를 더욱 뚜렷하게 부각하였으며, 집구된 원시의 주제가 <창부사> 각 장의 주제와 유사하거나 혹은 원시의 이미저리가 집구시에 수용되는 방향으로 집구를 행하여 각 장의 내용을 보다 풍부하게 살렸다. 이와 같이 볼 때 <창부사>는 단순히 기존시가에 대한 모방작이 아니라, 국문시가에 대한 폭넓은 이해를 바탕으로 이형상이 기존의 국문시가를 수용하고 재창조한 결과물임을 알 수 있다. 이는 고악의 이상을 살리면서도 당대의 삶과 생각을 반영한 금악을 활성화하고자 했던 이형상의 가악관이 실현된 산물이었다.
