영어

The purpose of this study was to define the meaning of 'Praxis' which is universally used in Practical Arts Education by judging from Hegel and Marx's Epistemology. Praxis which basically comes from human's activity is classified with human's other activities because of the certain goal achieved in the activity. Hegel and Marx shares the cognition that the teleological activity is labor and labor is rightly Praxis. Therefore, to define Hegel and Marx's cognition of labor is rightly to define the meaning of Praxis. Especially, when Practical Arts Education. sticks to the educational activity based on human's activity, the meaning of Praxis in practical course is in keeping with the meaning of labor, cognized by Hegel. So, this study considered Hegel and Marx's Epistemology for labor and based on it, defined the meaning of Praxis in Practical Arts Education. The results of studying are as follows. The first, Praxis is the process to objectify subjects. For the labor, Hegel considers that human intends to express and objectify their own substantiality for the object by making the object out of them theirs practically. Therefore, for Dewey, labor is the process of self-objectification of the subject, human. The second, Praxis is the process to establish self-consciousness. In Hegel's dialectic between slave and owner, human is related to the world and other people through the labor and obtain their essentials by continuous creation, not essentials of fixed existence. In other words, human reflects on themselves through the labor and establishes practical self-consciousness expressing their abilities. The third, Praxis is the process to be aware of collected existence. According to Marx, the difference between human and animals is productive work, labor. The product made by labor is for not only me but also others and furthermore, for the actualization of human's universal value. At this point, labor is the process to let human realize they are collected existence.
