The purpose of this research is to find a general tendency in weather teachers who have participated in their continuing education and Training sessions found any meaningful effect in their lives from them. In order to attain this purpose, a survey has been made among the teachers who have experiences in the continuing education, with the tool of simple and arbitrary way of sampling. As a result, teachers who responded showed a high consciousness about the effects of the continuing education and training, which arguably brought about their self-realization, an improvement in performing their task, and positive changes in their family and social life, in this order. Firstly, self-realization is noted highly in every survey item, which suggests that the continuing education and training as the lifelong education, has been successfully provided to them. Secondly, while the continuing education and training exposed the teachers to the high consciousness in regard to the improvement of performance in teaching and evaluation skills, yet their leadership in the extra curricula activities has been proved less effective despite the lifelong education and training. Accordingly, those who are in charge of the continuing education and training agencies, are recommended to develop programs to improve teachers' leadership skills for extra curricula activities, and on the level of each local school, it is demanded that the top school managers enhance their mindfulness and give credit to the outstanding teachers in their leadership of extra curricula activities, providing due incentives to them, and proactive support and consideration for organizing pilot project committee for extra curricula. Thirdly, as the family and social life areas have been cited as the least noted among the continuing education and training effects, the consciousness about the family change was specially low in every item. Therefore, I argue that a deep consideration of policy-making in building up the positive change in the family life as a proactive prevention of the prospective dysfunctional family issues acutely arising in the modern society, should be made in the continuing education and training.

본 연구의 목적은 중등 교원들의 교원 평생교육연수 참여가 어떠한 효과를 가져왔다고 인식하고 있는지에 대해 전체적인 경향성을 파악하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 해결하기 위하여 교원 평생교육연수에 참가한 경험이 있는 교원들을 대상으로 단순임의추출 방식으로 표집하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 교원들은 전체적으로 연수 효과를 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났고, 자아실현, 직무능력 향상, 가정․사회생활 변화의 순서로 교육 참여 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 첫째, 자아실현은 모든 항목에 걸쳐 높게 인식하고 있는데, 이는 교원 평생교육연수가 교원들에게 계속교육의 기회를 성공적으로 제공하고 있음을 시사하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 둘째, 직무능력 향상에서는 수업 및 평가와 관련된 영역이 높게 인식되는 것과는 달리 특별활동지도와 같은 수업 외적인 부분에서는 상대적으로 효과가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 연수기관 담당자들은 교원들의 특별활동지도 능력을 배가할 수 있는 연수 프로그램 개발 등 특별활동 관련 연수의 활성화 대책을 마련하고, 학교차원에서는 관리자의 마인드 제고 및 특별활동지도 우수교원에 대한 인사고과 및 성과급 산정 시 유인가 제공, 특별활동 연구회 조직 및 지원 등과 같은 적극적인 지원과 배려가 요구된다 할 수 있다. 셋째, 가정․사회생활 변화는 연수 효과 중 가장 낮게 인식하는 영역으로 특히 가정생활 변화에 대한 인식은 모든 항목이 낮게 인식되고 있다. 따라서 현대사회에서 심각하게 대두되고 있는 가정문제 예방에 있어서도 교원 평생교육연수가 일익을 담당할 수 있도록 가정생활 변화 효과 거양을 위한 정책적 배려가 요구된다.
