The main purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of a cognition of residents in the effects of city-county consolidation. The case study was selected from Yeoung-ju city which has a high heterogeneity between urban and rural area. To this study, we select the three variables; the economic aspects, the life service aspects and the social emotional aspects. The result of the study shows that urban area has a higher level than rural area in the satisfaction of city-county consolidation. Also, it is as follows the factor which has been influenced the residents' satisfaction in rural area: the development and investment, the invitation of a disgust facilities and the community spirit

본 연구는 도농 통합 이후 도농 간의 불균형 발전으로 인해 도농통합에 대한 도시지역주민과 농촌지역 주민들 간의 도농통합 효과에 관한 인식의 차이가 있을 것이라는 전제하에 지역간 이질성이 높은 영주시 지역을 사례로 분석해 보았다. 도농통합 만족도에 영향을 미치는 효과 요인을 경제적 요인, 생활 서비스 요인, 사회․정서적 요인으로 구성하여 농촌지역과 도시지역 주민들 간의 인식차이와 영향요인을 비교분석해 보았다. 분석결과 전체적인 만족도에 있어서 도시지역주민들의 만족도가 농촌지역주민들보다 더 높았으며, 도시지역주민은 통합만족도에 미치는 영향요인들이 없었으나, 농촌지역의 주민들은 개발과 투자, 혐오시설유치, 공동체의식 등이 도농통합만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 지역간 이질성이 높은 지역에서의 도농통합은 지역주민들 간에 도농통합에 관한 효과에 있어 인식의 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
