2007년 개정 일반계 고등학교 중국어 교육과정의 내용 및 특성 고찰

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development of Korea has announced the
revised version of the Korean National Curriculum for high school Chinese language on February
28th 2007 according to the occasional curriculum revision system. This revised curriculum was
made with some partial change on the 7th Korean National Curriculum which was declared in
1997. The objective of this paper was to explore the traits, characteristics of the revised
curriculum on the ground of the authors’ experience earned in the process of developing national
curriculums of Korea. The main findings of this study were as belows.
First, the revised curriculum has more embodied its character, purpose, contents, method and
evaluation reflected in the vivid requests of real school life than the 7th National Curriculum, also
maintaining the unique parts of the 7th National Curriculum of foreign languages.
Second, the role of culture was emphasized in the updated curriculum. Independent culture
part was newly established at each section of the purpose, the contents, the teaching & learning,
method and the evaluation. In particular, as for “3. Content” section, the part of ‘culture contents’
was set up as an independent part from the ‘language contents’.
Third, the addition of the number of 249 vocabulary in the revised curriculum to the number
of 773 basic vocabulary in the 7th Chinese language curriculum has finally made the total number
of 1,022 basic vocabulary enlisted in the new curriculum.
Fourth, while it was only mentioned, when it comes to grammar, that “Refer to the example
sentences for communication listed on the Appended table 1 in the 7th Chinese language
curriculum”, broader frame of basic contents was added to the revised curriculum.
Fifth, ‘Example sentences for communication’ were classified into the 8 categories, which
were re-classified into the 41 sub-categories with 83 Chinese example sentences in the 7th Chinese language curriculum. On the other hand, in the updated curriculum, in order to more emphasize the example sentences, it was classified into 5 categories, which were re-classified into the 55sub-categories with corresponding 209 Chinese sentence examples.
