The purpose of this research focuses on improving quality of life, offering an opportunity for
diverse social and cultural experience in creative environments and providing human beings with
positive behavior affordance through environmental color planning. By recognizing the importance
of educational facilities, the quality of school facilities has improved in terms of architectural and
environmental aspects, however, there has been less progress in the environmental color aspects.
The environmental color has an important impact on establishing environmental characteristics,
and can give positive influences on human beings when used purposefully and reasonably.
However, systematic and professional approaches have not been much established despite the
fact that the environmental color should be considered as a core design tool. Therefore,
educational facilities should function as an environment which ultimately meets the various
demands of users by affording children's development through conforming with various spatial
needs in the aspect of reinforcing affordance, stimulating the user's cultural sensibility and
harmonizing with the entire city by reflecting regional characteristics.
