A poet expresses his emotion or thought with some materials. A crow and a white heron which contrast in their external color and shape are often compared whin poems by Sijo writers. By the way, the writers' cognition and value-judgement is various, in a case is opposite each other. Such variousness or difference results from their own viewpoint of their social position or the relationship between high and low inborn positions. One poet insists that a person born with low status should be ugly and lack of morality and another poet claims that a person born with high status should be ugly and lack of morality. Such dispute are revived by other writers and denied by writers standing neutral position. And Ji-won, Park, a famous Korean novelist in the period of later middle, asserts another opinion; nobody can overcome his own inborn position and making efforts to retain morality is most important above all. After all, Sijo poet's attitude toward a crow and a white heron is determined his thought of social cosmos.I wish that this study would be help of finding classic values at Sijo texts.
