This study investigated whether experienced discrimination lead to discriminatory behaviors through aggression among fourth-grade children attending a regional center for children, and whether parent–child and teacher–child interactions moderate this process. Using first-wave data from the third panel of the Regional Center Child Panel Survey, a moderated mediation model (PROCESS Model 15) was applied. The results showed that both parent–child and teacher–child interactions significantly moderated the direct association between experienced discrimination and discriminatory behaviors, weakening this association. However, the moderated mediation effect through aggression was not statistically significant. These findings suggest that childhood discriminatory behaviors should not be understood merely as a reflection of individual characteristics but rather as a process that can be shaped by relational contexts. In particular, the role of supportive interactions with parents and teachers as potential protective factors that buffer the direct transmission of experienced discrmination into discriminatory behavior warrants attention.

본 연구는 지역아동센터를 이용하는 초등학교 4학년 아동을 대상으로 차별 피해 경험이 공격성을 매개로 차별 가해 경험으로 이어지는 경로를 검증하는 과정에서 해당 경로가 부모-아동 상호작용과 교사-아동 상호작용에 의해 달라질 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 지역아동센터 아동패널조사 3기패널의 1차년도 자료를 활용하여 조절된 매개모형(PROCESS Model 15)을 적용하였다. 그 결과, 부모-아동 상호 작용과 교사-아동 상호작용은 차별 피해 경험이 차별 가해 경험으로 직접 전이되는 경로를 완화하는 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 공격성을 매개로 한 간접경로에 대한 조절된 매개효과는 통계적으 로 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 아동기 차별행위를 단순한 개인 특성이나 일시적 갈등이 아니라, 관계적 맥락 속에서 조정될 수 있는 과정임을 시사한다. 특히 부모 및 교사와의 상호작용이 차별 피해 경험이 차별 가해 경험으로 직접 전이되는 경로를 완화하는 보호요인으로 작동할 수 있음을 확인했다는 점에서 아동을 둘러싼 관계적 환경의 역할에 주목할 필요가 있다.
