Teacher’s guides serve as practical resources for kindergarten teachers when planning and implementing educational activities in accordance with the objectives of national early childhood curricula. This study systematically analyzed ethnic education activities included in teacher’s guides for 5-year-old children in Chinese kindergartens, aiming to provide foundational insights for the future development of ethnic education for young children in China. A total of 118 ethnic education activities from teacher’s guides used in kindergartens across four provinces/regions with high ethnic minority populations—Guangxi, Yunnan, Xinjiang, and Hunan—were examined in terms of activity objectives, content, types, and resources. Results indicated that the primary objectives of ethnic education activities were behavioral, particularly those related to attitudes expected to be acquired through participation. Regarding content, activities were predominantly focused on the arts and social domains of the national curriculum, with themes emphasizing the spiritual culture of ethnic groups. In terms of activity types, storytelling sessions for large and small groups were most frequently employed, while teaching aids and digital media constituted the majority of resources used. Based on these findings, it is suggested that future ethnic education activities in China should balance diverse objectives, integrate both spiritual and material aspects of ethnic culture, and comprehensively cover five curriculum domains: health, language, social studies, science, and arts. Furthermore, activities should encourage child-led exploration and engagement, promote connections with families and local communities, and diversify instructional resources, including the incorporation of AI tools.

국가수준 유아교육과정의 지향에 따라 유치원 교사가 교육활동을 계획하고 실행할 때 교사용 지도서는 유용한 자료로 활용된다. 본 연구는 중국 유치원의 5세 유아를 위한 교사용 지도서에 수록된 민족교육 활동을 체계적으로 분석하여, 향후 중국 유아 민족교 육의 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중국 내 소수민족 인구 비중이 높은 4개 성(자 치구)인 광시(广西), 윈난(云南), 신장(新疆), 후난(湖南)의 유치원에서 사용하는 교사용 지도서에 수록된 118개 민족교육 활동을 대상으로, 민족교육 활동의 목표와 내용, 활동 의 유형과 자료 현황을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 유아 민족교육 활동의 목표는 유아가 활동 을 통해 습득하도록 기대하는 행동적 목표, 특히 태도에 관한 진술이 가장 많은 비중을 차 지하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 민족교육 활동의 내용은 국가 교육과정의 영역 범주에 서는 예술과 사회영역의 내용요소가 상대적으로 많이 포함되어 있었고, 주제 범주에서 는 민족의 정신문화에 관한 내용이 상대적으로 비중이 높았다. 민족교육 활동의 유형으 로는 대･소집단을 대상으로 하는 이야기나누기 활동에 편중되어 있으며, 활동의 자료는 교재･교구와 디지털미디어 자료가 다른 형태의 자료들에 비해 다수를 차지하고 있었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로, 향후 중국의 유아 민족교육 활동은 다양한 목표를 균형 있 게 고려하여 활동을 구안할 필요가 있으며, 내용은 정신문화와 물질문화를 아우르면서 교육과정의 건강, 언어, 사회, 과학, 예술의 5개 영역 내용을 통합적으로 구성할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. 그리고 유아의 민족교육 활동은 유아의 주도와 선택을 바탕으로 스스로 탐구할 수 있는 활동과 가정･지역사회 연계 활동이 더욱 활성화될 필요가 있으며, AI 활용 확대와 나아가 유아민족교육의 모형 및 프로그램 개발이 향후 과제임을 기술하 였다.
