This paper considers pastoral care as a pastoral practice of a tripolar spirituality which unites love for neighbor with love for God. First, this paper critiques the “monopolar spirituality” that focuses on experiences of self-transcendence, regardless of religious values. The problem with this spirituality is that it overlooks the relationship with God as it focuses on human experience itself. To overcome this problem, the paper proposes understanding our relationship with God through “two-person psychology” such as object relations theory and intersubjectivity theory. Particularly intersubjective theory offers insights into the intersubjective dynamics among God, ourselves and other people. Through the lens of such a theory, we can understand God more deeply as we care for other people. Such a practice of pastoral care is the practice of a tripolar spirituality that seeks maturity in both our human relationships and our relationship with God.

본고는 이웃 사랑과 하나님 사랑을 하나로 연결하는 삼자적 영성의 실 천으로서 목회적 돌봄에 대해 논의한다. 우선 본고는 최근 주목 받는 ‘인간 학적 영성학’을 비판한다. 인간학적 영성학이란 어떤 종교적 가치를 지향 하는지와 상관없이 인간의 자기초월 경험을 강조하는 학문을 말한다. 이 러한 영성학의 문제는 그처럼 인간 자신의 경험에 집중한 나머지 기독교신 앙의 핵심인 하나님과의 관계를 놓칠 수 있다는 점이다. 필자는 이러한 영 성추구의 한계를 극복하기 위해 하나님과의 관계를 자아초월 심리학 같은 ‘한 사람 심리학’이 아니라 상호주관성 이론 같은 ‘두 사람 심리학’의 관점에 서 조명해 볼 것을 제안한다. 상호주관성 이론은 하나님과 우리 사이의 관 계만 아니라 다른 사람을 포함한 삼자관계에서의 상호역동을 이해하는 데 유용한 통찰을 제공한다. 따라서 이러한 이론의 조명을 통해 우리는 서로 의 심리적 필요를 돌아볼 뿐 아니라 함께 하나님을 더 깊이 알아갈 수 있 다. 이러한 관점에서의 목회 돌봄은 인간 상호관계와 하나님과의 관계에서 의 성숙을 함께 추구하는 삼자적 영성의 실천이다.
