The Mediating Effect of Emotional Intelligence on the Relationship between Reflective Learning and Meaning in Life among Adult Learners

This study aims to investigate the mediating role of emotional intelligence in the relationship between reflective learning and meaning in life among adult learners. Data were collected from 126 adult learners and analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro Model 4 to assess the significance of the mediation effects. The results revealed that while reflective learning was positively correlated with meaning in life, its direct effect on meaning in life was not statistically significant. However, reflective learning exerted a significant indirect effect on meaning in life through the full mediation of emotional intelligence. These findings underscore the critical role of emotional intelligence as a mechanism through which reflective learning enhances the sense of meaning in life. Based on these results, this study recommends the development and implementation of educational strategies that foster emotional intelligence through reflective learning, promoting meaningful life experiences among adult learners effectively.
