This study explores how dance literacy and digital literacy intersect and are embodied in the popular culture context of Mnet’s audition program Stage Fighter. A total of 59 news articles published between November 2024 and March 2025 were collected and analyzed through article analysis and qualitative content analysis. The findings reveal four key dimensions. First, the dancers’ bodies functioned as semiotic texts that conveyed social messages, demonstrating the practice of performance literacy. Second, audiences acted not as passive consumers but as co-authors, participating in discourse production and influencing the program’s structure. Third, the stage emerged as a hybrid space where digital platforms and popular cultural languages converged, generating new aesthetics. Fourth, dance functioned as cultural literacy beyond technical skill acquisition, suggesting that dance education should shift from a skill-centered paradigm toward cultivating critical interpreters and cultural participants. By presenting the multilayered possibilities of literacy in the digital age, this study contributes to the expansion of discourse in dance studies, cultural research, and arts education.

본 연구는 Mnet 오디션 프로그램 《스테이지 파이터》를 중심으로 댄스 리터러시와 디지털 리터러시가 대중문 화 속에서 어떻게 교차하며 구현되는지를 탐색하였다. 연구를 위해 2024년 11월부터 2025년 3월까지 발표 된 언론 기사 59편을 수집하여 기사 분석과 정성적 내용 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째 무용수의 신체는 단순한 미적 표현을 넘어 사회적 메시지를 전달하는 퍼포먼스 리터러시의 실천으로 작동하였다. 둘째, 관객은 수동적 감상자가 아니라 공동 창작자로 기능하며 담론 생산과 프로그램 구조 변화에 기여하였다. 셋째, 무대는 디지털 플랫폼과 대중문화 언어가 결합된 복합적 공간으로 확장되어 새로운 미학을 창출하였다. 넷째, 춤은 단 순한 기량 습득을 넘어 사회·문화적 문해력으로 기능하며, 무용교육은 기능 중심에서 비판적 해석자와 문화적 참여자를 양성하는 방향으로 전환되어야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 디지털 시대 무용의 리터러시적 가능성을 다층적으로 제시함으로써 무용학과 예술교육 담론의 확장에 기여한다.
