Development and Strategy of Elderly-Friendly Services for Domestic Airlines

The purpose of this study is to specifically understand the elderly-friendly services of domestic airlines for new senior passengers. It is also important to study the specialized services preferred by new senior passengers. This study was conducted as a focus group, and the opinions of a total of 12 people were summarized as follows. It was found that New Senior passengers are satisfied with the meticulous service provided by the airline and are impressed by the elderly-friendly service, such as boarding music. In addition, they help to feel positive about the airline even with services such as welcome announcement. Since the number of new senior passengers is increasing for domestic airlines, improving their satisfaction helps them operate stably. Therefore, it is of paramount importance for domestic airlines to grasp and provide exactly what they want. Since they are passengers characterized as seniors, they are interested in in in in-flight meals provided by airlines and it is necessary to develop a menu that has both elements of nutrition and taste. In addition, it is advantageous for airlines to create profits by providing them with a variety of services and making them regular customers. This study provides various implications for the development of elderly-friendly services for domestic airlines.
