This study examines the potential of AI-based pedagogy in fostering sensitivity within secondary geography education and explores AI's impact on developing geographical sensitivity. It focuses on elements such as sense of place, environmental sensitivity, and empathy, discussing AI applications that enhance these aspects. Based on academic publications from 2015 to 2025, the research compares AI-based education trends across different periods and countries, analyzing AI's contribution to sensitivity in geography education. The study presents AI applications like personalized learning, VR-based environments, and emotion analysis, and highlights differences in their implementation globally. It concludes by emphasizing the need for AI-based pedagogical models for fostering sensitivity and providing recommendations for deeper integration of AI in geography education.

본 연구는 중등 지리교육에서 감수성 함양을 위한 AI 기반 교수·학습의 현황과 가능성을 분석하고, AI 기술이 지리교육학적 감수 성의 함양에 미치는 영향을 탐구한다. 특히, 장소감, 장소애착이라는 지리교육학적 감수성 요소에 주목하여 AI 활용 유형을 중심으 로 논의한다. 본 연구는 국내외에서 발표된 2015년부터 2025년까지의 학술 자료를 바탕으로 시기별 및 국가별 연구 동향을 비교하 고, 각 시기에 따른 연구 사례를 통해 AI가 지리교육에서 감수성 함양에 기여한 바를 분석하였다. 또한, AI가 학습자의 감수성을 향 상시키는 데 있어 맞춤형 학습, 시뮬레이션 및 VR 기반 학습 환경, 감정 분석 등 다양한 교육적 활용 방법을 제시하며, 각 국가에서 의 적용 방식 차이를 논의하였다. 향후 연구에서는 감수성 함양을 위한 AI 기반 교수·학습 모델의 개발 필요성과, AI와 지리교육의 연계 심화를 위한 방안을 제시한다.
