This study aimed to analyze grit cluster types of college students and investigate differences in learning strategies, failure tolerance, and adaptation to college life according to the grit cluster types. A cluster analysis was conducted on 261 college students based on the sub-factors of grit, and a multivariate variance analysis (MANOVA) was performed to analyze the differences in learning strategies, failure tolerance, and adaptation to college life according to grit cluster types. The cluster analysis identified four types: low grit, high effort, high interest, and high grit. The ‘high effort’ and ‘high grit’ groups demonstrated significantly higher levels of learning strategy use. In terms of failure tolerance, the ‘low grit’ group showed significantly lower levels compared to other groups. Regarding adaptation to college life, the ‘high grit’ group exhibited excellent overall adaptability. This study provides an in-depth analysis of the characteristics of college students according to their grit types and can be used as useful basic data for developing customized educational programs and support strategies for different grit types.

본 연구는 대학생의 그릿(grit) 군집유형을 분석하고, 그릿 군집유형에 따라 학습전략, 실패내성, 대학생활적응 의 차이를 조사하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대학생 261명을 대상으로 그릿의 하위 요인을 기준으로 군집분석을 실시하 였고, 그릿 군집유형에 따른 학습전략, 실패내성, 대학생활적응의 차이를 검증하기 위하여 다변량분산분석 (MANOVA)을 실시하였다. 군집분석 결과, ‘낮은 그릿 집단’, ‘노력 상위집단’, ‘관심 상위집단’, ‘높은 그릿 집단’의 네 가지 유형이 도출되었고, MANOVA 결과, 그릿 군집유형에 따라 학습전략, 실패내성, 대학생활적응에서 유의한 차이 가 확인되었다. 학습전략 사용에서는 ‘노력 상위집단’과 ‘높은 그릿 집단’이 다른 집단보다 유의미하게 높은 수준을 보 였다. 실패내성에서는 ‘낮은 그릿 집단’이 다른 집단보다 유의하게 낮았으며, 대학생활적응에서는 ‘높은 그릿 집단’이 전반적으로 우수한 적응력을 보였다. 본 연구는 대학생의 그릿 유형에 따른 특성을 깊이 있게 분석하여, 그릿 유형별 로 맞춤형 교육 프로그램 개발 및 지원 방안 모색하는 데 유용한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
