The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationships between career exploration, career readiness, and career decision-making self-efficacy among freshmen in early childhood education, utilizing structural equation modeling (SEM). To this end, a study was conducted with 153 freshmen in early childhood education in the Chungcheong region. Pearson’s correlation analysis and structural equation modeling were conducted using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20.0, along with various fit indices. The main findings were as follows: First, the relationships among self-exploration, occupational exploration, career readiness, and career decision-making self-efficacy showed a positive correlation. Second, career readiness partially mediated the effect of self-exploration on career decision-making self-efficacy, while occupational exploration fully mediated the effect of career decision-making self-efficacy. This study highlights the importance of career readiness factors among freshmen in early childhood education and suggests the need to develop tailored career exploration and preparation programs that align with the characteristics of the major, as well as to establish a department- or university-level support system linked to the field.

본 논문은 진로탐색과 진로준비도, 진로결정 자기효능감 간의 구조적 관계를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 충청권역 유아교육과 신입생 153명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 20.0을 활용하여 피어 슨의 상관분석과 다양한 적합도 지수와 함께 구조방정식으로 분석하였다. 주요결과는 첫째, 자기 및 직업에 대한 탐 색과 진로준비도, 진로결정 자기효능감 간의 관계는 정적 상관관계로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로준비도는 자기에 대한 탐색 이 진로결정 자기효능감에 부분 매개하며, 직업에 대한 탐색에는 진로결정 자기효능감에 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타 났다. 본 연구를 통해 유아교육과 신입생의 진로준비도 요인의 중요성을 확인할 수 있었고, 전공 특성에 부합하는 맞 춤형 진로탐색 및 준비 프로그램의 개발과 대학(센터) 차원의 전공 연계 지원 체계 마련이 필요함을 시사한다.
