Mathematics textbooks that follow the 2015 revised curriculum define the codomain of one-to-one functions, whose codomain is not explicitly stated, in different ways. These varying descriptions of the codomain affect whether a function is considered a bijection and, furthermore, whether the function has an inverse function. This study aims to examine whether the interpretation of tasks related to the existence of inverse functions differs depending on how the codomain of one-to-one functions with undefined codomains is described in mathematics textbooks. Through an analysis of mathematics textbooks based on the 2015 revised curriculum, it was confirmed that piecewise functions are a topic covered in school mathematics. The study then compared the solutions to problems related to the existence of inverse functions of piecewise functions, depending on how they were presented in textbooks. As a result, it was found that the interpretation of the conditions under which a given function has an inverse may vary depending on how the codomain of a one-to-one function with an undefined codomain is described, which may in turn lead to differences in problem-solving approaches and answers.

2015 개정 교육과정을 따르는 수학교과서는 공역이 정의되지 않은 일대일함수의 공역에 관해 서로 다른 방법으로 공역을 정의하고 있다. 서로 다른 공역에 대한 서술은 함수가 일대일대응인지에 대해 영향을 미치며, 더 나아가 어떤 함수가 역함수를 갖는지에 대해 영향을 미친다. 본 연구 는 수학교과서의 공역이 정의되지 않은 일대일함수의 공역에 대한 서술 방법에 따라 역함수의 존재성과 관련된 과제의 풀이가 다르게 해석되는지 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 2015 개정 교육과정을 따르는 수학교과서의 분석을 통해 조각마다 정의된 함수가 학교수학에서 다루는 내용임을 확인하 고, 수학교과서의 서술 내용에 따라 조각마다 정의된 함수에 대한 역함수의 존재성과 관련된 과제의 풀이를 비교하였다. 그 결과 수학교과서의 공역이 정의되지 않은 일대일함수에서의 공역의 서술 방법에 따라 주어진 함수의 역함수가 존재하기 위한 조건의 해석이 달라지며, 과제에 대한 풀이와 답이 달라질 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
