AI digital textbooks hold the potential to revolutionize traditional education methods by aiming for personalized learning and bridging educational gaps. By providing tailored learning experiences that cater to students' individual levels and needs, they maximize learning efficiency and offer diverse educational content that enhances student engagement and immersion. However, to realize this potential, it is essential to identify and address various issues in advance and implement practical solutions. The purpose of this study is to explore directions for the successful implementation of AI digital textbooks. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the legal status and definition of digital textbooks must be clarified. Under current regulations, AI digital textbooks may be categorized as educational resources rather than official textbooks. Therefore, securing their legal status as a primary educational medium is crucial to establish their identity and foster trust among educators and parents. Second, a systematic legal framework that ensures data protection and adheres to data ethics must be established. For AI digital textbooks to utilize data effectively and provide personalized learning experiences, solutions to address data security and privacy concerns are essential. Such measures will enhance the trust of learners and prevent legal disputes during the implementation process.

AI 디지털 교과서는 학습 개인화와 교육격차 해소를 목표로 기존의 교육 방식을 혁신할 잠재력을 가지고 있 다. 학생의 수준과 필요에 맞춘 맞춤형 학습을 통해 학습 효율을 극대화하고, 학습자의 흥미와 몰입을 높이는 다양한 교육 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 가능성을 실현하기 위해서는 여러 문제를 사전에 파악하고, 이를 해결 할 수 있는 실질적인 대책 마련이 필요하다. 이 연구의 목적은 인공지능 디지털 교과서의 성공적인 도입을 위한 방향 을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 디지털 교과서의 법적 지위와 정의를 명확히 해야 한다. 현행 법규에서 AI 디지털 교과서는 교육자료로 규정될 가능성이 있다. 그러므로 학습의 핵심 매체로서의 정체성을 인정받 기 위해서는 교과서로서의 법적 지위 확보가 중요하다. 둘째, 개인정보 보호 및 데이터 윤리를 보장하는 체계적인 법 적 기반이 마련되어야 한다. AI 디지털 교과서가 데이터를 활용하여 개인화된 학습을 제공하려면, 데이터 보안 및 개 인정보 보호 문제에 대한 해결책이 필수적이다. 이를 통해 학습자의 신뢰를 확보하고, 도입 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 법적 분쟁을 예방할 수 있다.
