This study was conducted with the aim of exploring strategies to enhance the performance of social enterprises in greater depth and to propose related research topics. Social enterprises are organizational forms that pursue both public interest and profitability. Given that the performance pursued by an organization can vary depending on its founding purpose, the founding purpose of a social enterprise should be considered a significant influencing factor. In cases where social enterprises are established in response to the needs of local communities, they maintain close ties with the region and are continuously influenced by it; therefore, regional characteristics can serve as an important antecedent factor. Furthermore, this study emphasizes that leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of social enterprises. Accordingly, the fit between the characteristics of social enterprises, regional attributes, and leadership should be taken into account. To achieve the study's objectives, existing literature on the founding purposes of social enterprises, regional characteristics, and leadership fit was thoroughly analyzed, and research topics related to these themes were proposed. In addition, this study discusses the potential contributions that could be realized in future research by considering the fit between the characteristics of social enterprises or their regional contexts and leadership as a key factor in improving organizational performance

본 연구는 사회적기업의 성과 향상을 위한 방안을 보다 심도있게 논의하고, 이와 관련한 연구주제를 제안하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 사회적기업은 공익성과 수익성을 동시에 추구하는 조직형태로, 조직은 설립목적에 따라 추구하는 성과가 달라질 수 있다는 점에서 사회적기업도 설립목적이 중요한 영향요인으로 고려할 필요가 있다. 사회 적기업 중 지역사회의 필요에 따라서 설립되는 경우에는 지역과의 긴밀한 관계를 유지하고 지속적으로 영향을 받기 때문에, 지역의 특성을 중요한 선행요인이 될 수 있다. 또한 본 연구에서는 무엇보다 사회적기업의 성과 향상을 위해 서는 리더십이 중요한 영향을 미치기에, 위에서 언급한 사회적기업 및 지역 특성과 리더십간의 적합성을 고려해야 함을 주장하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적달성을 위하여 사회적기업의 설립목적과 지역 특성 및 리더십간의 적합성에 대한 기존 연구들을 심도있게 분석하여, 이와 관련된 연구주제를 제안하고자 하였다. 아울러 향후 연구에서 본 연구의 제안을 토대로 사회적기업이나 지역의 특성과 리더십간의 적합성을 성과향상의 핵심요인으로 고려할 경우에 달성가능한 공헌점에 대해서도 논의하였다.
