The purpose of this study is to propose a creative ideation class design for art masks using generative AI within a digital media framework. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing two rounds of Focus Group Interviews (FGI). In the first stage, key aspects related to the use of Adobe Firefly were explored, while in the second stage, feedback on keyword-based image generation exercises was collected. Based on these findings, an ideation class for art mask design was developed. The study results indicate that, first, using text-based prompts facilitated the generation of more creative and efficient ideas. Second, the instructional design followed a structured process that played a crucial role in promoting learner interaction. This process consisted of theme exploration, image generation and sharing, iterative refinement through feedback, and a final presentation. Third, by applying prompts tailored to Cubism and Avant-garde themes, learners were able to visually concretize their creative ideas in art mask design. Therefore, the study suggests that the proposed class model has the potential to enhance learners’ self-directed learning capabilities and improve digital literacy, demonstrating its educational value.
