This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of self-efficacy between empathy and humanism among nursing students at a university. It would be useful to provide basic data for developing a humanistic care program for nursing students. The participants were 180 nursing students at the university. The participants completed structured questionnaires that measured empathy, self-efficacy, humanism, and demographic characteristics. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis and the PROCESS macro Model 4 was used for mediating effect. The main findings were as follows. Empathy had a positive effect on humanism (B=.217, p<.05), and selfefficacy had a partial mediating effect between empathy and humanism (B=.328, Boot 95% CI=.0165~0.521). These findings suggest that it is necessary to develop a program that can improve not only empathy but also self-efficacy in order to develop humanistic care in nursing students.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 공감이 휴머니즘에 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 그 관계에서 자기 효능감의 매개효과를 파악하 여 간호대학생의 휴머니즘적 돌봄을 실천할 수 있는 프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 간호학과에 재 학 중인 180명의 대학생을 대상으로 공감, 자기 효능감, 휴머니즘 및 인구ž사회학적 특징으로 구성된 설문지를 이용하여 자료 를 수집하였다. 자료 분석은 t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient을 이용하여 기술통계 및 상관분석을 시행하 였고, 매개효과 분석을 위해 PROCESS macro Model 4를 이용하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 공감은 휴머니즘에 정 적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었고(B=.217, p<.05), 자기효능감은 공감과 휴머니즘 사이에서 부분 매개효과가 확인되었 다(B=.328, Boot 95% CI=0.165~0.521). 간호 대학생의 휴머니즘 소양을 기르기 위해 공감뿐만 아니라 자기 효능감을 함께 증진시킬 수 있는 프로그램 개발이 필요함을 시사한다.
