This paper analyzes the patterns of the acceptance and the transformation in Jingke in The Biography of the Assassins in the Historical Records manifested in Banggunkakyejun Usangjun, YeulhaIlgi Dogangrok. First of al, Yeonam liked to read The Biography of the Assassins in the Historical Records, and utilized it in his exercise writing, and identified Jingke manifested in Banggunkakyejun. Usangjun, YeulhaIlgi, Dogangrok. Secondly, Yeonam presented previous classics to back up the supportings, and elaborated the anecdotes which Jingke, Gapsup and Gojumri played in the Assasin Story in n the Usangjun. Thirdly, Yeonam symphsized the Jingke in that nobody paid attention to the literary talents of Usang. He embodied the self dignity of Usang himself who was extremely lonesome and sad through the interrogative forms. Forthly, Teonam is amplified with the technique of Yeonam thinking the peaks of the mountain Bulil leaning against the castle wall presenting the poems of Youdeukgong and the minds of Hyungga. Fifthly, he boldly omit the contents of that person whom Jingke waited for, and he reconstructed into a new work by narrating his righteous discussion. Sixthly, the acceptance and the transformation in Jingke is the part where Yeonam’s mind is well explicted. He is resolutely determined as an intelligent who is confroted with Dang Dynasty and Chung Dynasty. Sevethly, The associative rearrangement by the image of water is an extraordinary technique, and this is more peculiar in Yeohailgi than his earlier works If we rethink the similarities between Dogangrok in this paper and the Departure Theory, we can find commonality in the topic of departure, and Yeonam focused on the situation of departing and he needed the object to which his pains are reflected. And this seems to be his intentive technique in order to resolvely express his complicated minds in departing. In sum, Yeonam accepts the original meaning in the original texts, and furthermore in his own way he completed his eloquent sentences in expressing the psychological minds according to his situation and association.

본고는 『방경각외전』<우상전>과 『熱河日記』 <도강록>에 보이는 『史記』의 수용과 변용 양상을 분석하였는데, 특히 연암이 의론을 서술하는 대목에서 <刺客列傳> ‘형가전’의 타전고와의 연상기법을 활용한 주제 의식에 유념하여 그 문학적 의미를 검토하였다. 첫째, 연암은 『史記』을 애독하고 자신의 습작에 활용하거나 전고로 활용하였는데, <答京之三>은 물론 『방경각외전』 <우상전>과 『熱河日記』<도강록>에 보이는 형가라는 인물의 전고 양상을 통해 확인하였다. 둘째, 연암은 의론을 추가할 때 그 논거를 뒷받침하고자 전고를 여러 가지로 나열하여 제시하는 수법을 자주 사용하는데, <우상전>에서 <자객열전>의 형가가 각기 갑섭과 고점리와 있었던 일화를 대우 기법으로 대별하며 부연하였다. 셋째, 연암은 우상의 문재가 뛰어났음에도 알아주는 이가 없었음을 형가의 울분과 같은 선상에서 공감하고, 의문형 강조문과 문답형의 답변 방식을 통해 지독히 외롭고 슬펐던 우상 자신의 자존감을 형상화하였다. 넷째, 연암이 <도강록>에서 성벽에 기대 백마산성에서 불일산의 봉우리를 연상하며 장소를 옮겨가며 그 감회를 좇아가는 기법은 물론 유득공의 시나 형가의 마음에 대한 의론을 펼치면서 자신의 감정을 증폭하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 다섯째, 형가가 기다린 ‘그 사람’에 대해 원전의 내용을 과감히 생략하고 자신의 의론을 펴는 서술에서 새로운 작품으로 재구하고 있음을 보았다. 여섯째, 연상적 전고 배치의 마지막을 장식한 ‘형가’의 수용과 변용은 연암의 심정을 표출하기에 절정을 이루는 대목으로 당대 조선과 청나라의 현실을 대면한 지식인으로서의 비장한 면모를 엿볼 수 있었다. 일곱째, ‘물’의 이미지를 통한 연암의 문학에 보이는 연상적, 수미상관적 재배치는 실로 탁월한 기법이라 하겠는데, 이는 초기작보다는 󰡔『熱河日記』에 보이는 특징이라 하겠다. 여덟째, 본고의 <도강록>과 ‘離別論’의 유사한 지점을 재고해 보면 우선 ‘떠남’이라는 소재 면에서 공통점을 찾을 수 있는데, 燕巖은 이별에 처한 상황에 집중하여 그 아픔을 투영할 대상이 필요했던 것으로 보이며, 燕巖 자신이 지금의 이별하는 복잡한 심정을 비장하게 표현하려고 형가를 전고한 의도적 수법이라 하겠다. 요컨대, 燕巖은 원텍스트의 원의를 수용하되 나름 독자적인 방법으로 재구하여 자신의 상황과 연상에 따른 심리를 표현하였는데 특유의 달변적 議論 위주의 문장을 완성하였다. 아울러 본고는 전고 수용 양상의 연구 방법론과 결과가 燕巖 문학을 이해하고 분석하는 연구 방법은 물론 연암이 전고를 수용하는 특성으로서 그 일반적인 수법을 도출하여 그의 문학을 이해하고 분석하는데 일정부분 하나의 새로운 틀을 제시할 수 있다는 점에 의의를 둔다.
