The purpose of this study is to clarify the concept of heart in Essential of Unification Thought. Unification Thought views "Sim-Jung or heart" as the most essential part of God's at-tributes and defines heart as 'the emotional impulse to seek joy through love'. On the other hand, in Korean culture, 'Sim-Jung' is 'an emotion or emotion that cannot be expressed in words that occurs inside a person'. However, there are conflicting interpretations among scholars of FFW-PU-Korea regarding the applicability of the doctrine and the texts of Rev. Sun Myung Moon in FFWPU of the concept of heart in Unification Thought. One of them is the view that it is con-nected to the meaning of heart commonly used in Korean culture, pointing out that the concept of heart that appears in the texts and doctrines of FFWPU is not interpreted as the heart of Unifica-tion Thought. On the other hand, from a different angle, some say that Shim-Jung in Unification Thought should be understood as "an identity that fundamentally defines God's original image," rather than viewing it as a specific one among the various forms of simple Heart. Therefore, this thesis saw that it is necessary to study whether these two concepts are completely different and independent concepts, how they are related to each other, and what meaning Shim-Jung is used in FFWPU. To this end, we looked at how Sim-Jung was used in FFWPU using autonomous linguistics and cognitive linguistic methods. In addition, as a result of synthesizing and logically organizing the concept of heart described in Unification Thought, it could be divided into four types. The first type is Sim-Jung or heart of an unbearable urge to love and to have the object of love, and this also includes the meaning of a more internal than God's Inner Sungsang. The second type is Sim-Jung or heart in a relationship in which love is given and joy is obtained through the object of love. The third type is Sim-Jung or heart in a relationship where love cannot be given or received when the object of love is lost or cannot stand in the position of the object. The fourth is of Sim-Jung or heart wanting to regain the object of love. According to this type, the use of heart was classified in the texts of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han. As a result of the above, it was concluded that the concept of heart of FFWPU is a higher-level concept than the concept of heart understood in Korean culture, and accordingly, the concept of heart commonly used in Korean culture is human heart, which originated in the heart of God.

본 연구는 통일사상요강의 심정에 대한 개념을 명확히 하는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 통일사상은 심정이 하나님의 속성 가운데 가장 핵심이 되는 부분으로 보고 심정을 ‘사랑을 통해서 기쁘고자 하는 정적인 충동’이라고 정의한다. 반면에 한국 문화에서 심정은 ‘사람의 내면에 일어나는 말로 표현할 수 없는 정서 또는 감정’이다. 그런데 통일사상의 심정 개념의 가정연합에서 교리서와 문선명 선생 말씀집에 대한 적용성을 두고 한국가정연합 학자들 간에서 엇갈린 해석이 나오고 있다. 그중 하나는 가정연합의 원리강 론과 말씀에서 등장하는 심정 개념이 통일사상의 심정으로 해석되지 않는 점을 지적하면서 한국 문화에서 일반적으로 쓰이고 있는 심정의 의미와 연결된다고 보는 견해다. 한편 이와 다른 각도에서 통일사상의 심정을 단순한 심정의 여러 가지 형태 중 특정한 하나로 만 보는 것이 아니라 심정을 “하나님의 원상을 근본적으로 규정하는 정체성”의 의미로 이해해야 한다고 말하기도 한다. 이에 본 논문은 이 두 개념이 완전히 다른 독립적인 개념인지 아니면 상호 간에 어떤 연관성을 갖는지 그리고 가정연합에서 심정이 어떤 의미로 쓰이고 있는지에 대해 연구할 필요성이 있다 고 보았다. 이를 위해 가정연합에서 심정이 어떻게 쓰이고 있는지를 자율적 언어학과 인지 언어학적 방법으로 살펴보았다. 또한 통일사상에 서술된 심정의 개념을 종합하여 논리적으로 정리한 결과 네 가지 유형으로 나눌 수 있었다. 첫 번째 유형은 사랑하고 싶어서 사랑의 대상을 갖고 싶어 견딜 수 없는 충동의 심정이며 여기에는 하나님의 내적 성상보다 더 내적인 성상이라는 의미도 포함된다. 두 번째 유형은 사랑의 대상을 통해 사랑을 주고 기쁨을 얻는 관계에서의 심정이다. 세 번째 유형은 사랑의 대상을 잃었거나 그 대상의 자리에 서지 못했을 때 사랑을 줄 수도 받을 수도 없는 관계에서의 심정이다. 네 번째는 사랑의 대상을 되찾고자 하는 심정이다. 이 유형에 따라 문선명‧한학자 선생의 말씀집에서 심정의 쓰임새를 분류하였다. 위의 그 결과 가정연합의 심정 개념이 한국 문화에서 이해되는 심정의 개념에 상위개념이며, 이에 따라 한국 문화 속에서 통용되는 심정의 개념이 하나님의 심정에 기원을 둔 인간의 심정이 라는 결론을 얻었다.
