This research aims to explore the potential for the educational use of travelogues from the late Qing Dynasty, with a focus on their application in literary education. The late Qing Dynasty travelogues, as documents in which Chinese intellectuals recorded their experiences and observations of the Western world, serve as crucial materials for understanding the perceptions of the West at that time and the social and cultural reactions within China. To utilize these travelogues as literary and educational resources, this study seeks to explore methods of creating literary maps using QGIS. This effort contributes to a meaningful task that allows for a transcendent contemplation of the patterns of places visited by Chinese people during the modern era and a comprehensive understanding of the context of their journeys. Such an approach opens new possibilities for use not only in literary education but also in geography and history education, among other educational fields. The late Qing Dynasty travelogues transcend mere travel records, deeply connecting to the social, cultural, and political contexts of the era, and through them, it is possible to foster critical and creative thinking necessary for understanding the present through the past and envisioning the future.

본 연구는 청나라 말기 서구 여행기를 중심으로 기행문의 문학교육에서의 활용 가능성을 탐색한다. 청나라 말기의 서구 여행기는 당시 중국 지식인들이 서구 세계 를 경험하며, 그들의 관찰과 느낌을 기록한 문서이다. 이러한 기행문은 당시 서구에 대한 인식과 중국 내부의 사회, 문화적 반응을 이해하는 데 중요한 자료로 기능한 다. 이 자료들은 단순한 여행 기록을 넘어서, 해당 시대의 사회, 문화, 정치적 맥락 과 깊이 연결되어 있으며, 이를 통해 과거를 통한 현재의 이해와 미래 전망에 필요한 비판적 사고와 창의적 사고를 촉진할 수 있다. 본 연구는 이 기행문들을 문학적, 교육적 자원으로 활용할 방안을 모색하며, QGIS를 이용한 문학지도 제작 방안을 탐구하였다. 이를 통해 근대 시기 중국인들이 여행했던 장소들의 패턴을 초월적으 로 사색하고, 여정의 맥락을 전체적으로 파악할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이러한 접근 방식은 문학교육은 물론, 지리교육, 역사교육 등 다양한 교육 분야에서 활용될 수 있는 새로운 가능성을 열어줄 것이다.
