This study analyzed trends in the analysis of therapeutic factors in artists' works in art thera py research papers published in Korea over the past 23 years, and proposed the direction of where art therapy research should be heading based on the results. To this end, among the 77 art therapy journal articles on the analysis of artists' works studied from 2001 to 2023, 69 articles suitable for the research purpose were analyzed by year, artist, research perspective, research medium, research topic, and treatment factors of the study. Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions were drawn. First, the trends by year show that research has continued for 23 years, and that research has increased rapidly since 2006. Second, when looking at artists according to the flow of art trends, expressionis m was the highest among male artists at 16.4%, and modern and contemporary among female artists was highest at 12.9%. Third, looking at the trend of the analysis perspective, it was found that 26.1% of the studies were conducted from a psychoanalytic perspective. Fourth, research media trends showed that two-dimensional media such as paintings and self-portraits were the most studied at 72.1%. Fifth, the research topic trends were in the order of art therapy, art therapeutic factors of art, color psychology, trauma, and death-relat ed topics. The content of these key words shows that artists are treating mental and psych ological difficulties through work activities. Sixth, the most common therapeutic factors exp erienced by artists through their work, accounting for 87.1%. In particular, it was found that artists mainly experienced 'sublimation' and 'catharsis' through their work activities. In addition, it was found that viewers who appreciate an artist's work also experience therapy effect just like the artist. This study is meaningful in that it systematically analyzed and organized the therapeutic factors in papers that analyzed the therapeutic factors in artists' works, and provided basic data for future research on art therapy. The results of this study are expected to provide understanding of the therapeutic factors of artists' creations and provide basic data for research on therapeutic factors that viewers can experience in the future.

본 연구는 최근 23년간 국내에서 발표한 미술치료 연구논문에서 예술가의 작품 속 치료요인 분석연구의 동향을 분석하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 미술치료 연구 방향에 대해 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2001년부터 2023년까 지 연구된 예술가의 작품 분석에 관한 미술치료 학술지 77편 중 연구 목적에 적합한 69편을 연도, 예술가, 연구 관점, 연구 매체, 연구 주제, 연구의 치료요인으로 분석하였다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 연도별 동향은 23년 동안 연구가 지속되고 있으며, 2006년부터 연구가 급증하였음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 예술가를 미술사조의 흐름에 따라 살펴보면 남성 예술가는 표현주의가 16.4%, 여성 예술가는 근현대가 12.9%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 분석 관점 동향을 살펴보면 정신분석적 관점에서 진행되는 연구가 26.1%를 차지한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 연구 매체 동향은 회화, 자화상 등의 2차원 매체가 72.1%로 가장 많이 연구된 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 연구 주제 동향은 미술치료, 미술의 치료요인, 색채심리, 트라우마, 죽음과 관련된 주제 순으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 주제어의 내용은 예술가들이 정신적·심리적 어려움을 작품활동을 통해 치료하고 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 여섯째, 예술가가 작품활동을 통해 경험하게 되는 치료요인이 87.1%로 가장 많이 나타났다. 특히 예술가들은 작품활동을 통해 ‘승화’와 ‘카타르시스’를 주로 경험하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이외에도 예술가의 작품을 감상하는 감상자도 예술가처럼 치료를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 예술가의 작품 속 치료요인을 분석한 논문들을 대상으로 하여 그 치료요인을 체계적으로 분석하여 정리하고 이후 다양한 방향으로 미술치료의 연구가 진행될 기초자료를 제공한 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구 결과는 예술가들의 작품이 가지는 치료요인에 대한 이해를 제공하고 향후 감상자가 경험할 수 있는 치료요인 연구에 대한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
