This research is a foundational study aimed at understanding 4-year university students engaged in on-campus work from various perspectives and proposing educational and supportive institutional policies. The research data were extracted using the 4th Korean Education and Employment Panel Survey (KEEP) in 2019. The study focused on students who experienced on-campus part-time work among those who enrolled in a 4-year university in South Korea in 2019. Hierarchical cluster analysis was conducted using on-campus work hours, off-campus work hours, and total work hours as variables, revealing four statistically classified groups. Firstly, the minimum work group consisted of individuals with the highest economic status, who only experienced on-campus work for a minimal amount of time. Secondly, the on-campus and off-campus work combined group concurrently engaged in on-campus and substantial off-campus work, with lower education satisfaction compared to other groups. Thirdly, the on-campus work concentration group generally had higher education satisfaction. Lastly, the maximum work group represented individuals with the lowest household economic status, dedicating the most time to on-campus work. No significant differences were found among the four groups in terms of academic achievement. Based on these research findings, suggestions were made for the development of university-level supportive policies for on-campus working students and future research tasks.
