This study applied problem-based learning(PBL) to clinical dental hygiene subjects for five weeks from March 2023 to 41 third graders in the Department of dental hygiene at University in Busan. According to a survey of students' learning satisfaction and self-directed learning ability according to the PBL curriculum, 51.2% of the respondents answered "not so," and 43.9% answered "very so" and "generally so." According to these results, the problem-solving process is somewhat burdensome and difficult, but after taking the course, I was able to know exactly what I wanted to know and it seems that it can be applied in clinical practice. In addition, the application of PBL to the curriculum is believed to contribute to the acquisition of self-directed learning attitudes in that it is possible to acquire various learning methods in the process of establishing learning goals and plans and solving problems. Therefore, through this study, the application of the PBL method to the curriculum can contribute to increasing learners' interest and learning satisfaction, and to increasing self-directed learning attitude acquisition.

본 연구는 부산시 소재 대학 치위생학과 3학년 41명을 대상으로 2023년 3월부터 5주간 PBL(문제중심학습)을 임상치위생학교과에 적용하였다. PBL교과에 따른 학생들의 학습만족도와 자기주도적 학습능력을 조사한 결과 문제 해결과정은 전반적으로 즐거웠다.’에 대한 응답은 ‘그렇지 않다’가 51.2%로 가장 많았으며, 교과에서 학습한 내용을 실제 임상에서 활용할 수 있다고 생각한다.’에 대한 응답은 ‘매우 그렇다’와‘대체로 그렇다’가 각각 43.9%로 가장 많았다. 이와 같은 결과에 따라 문제해결과정이 다소 부담스럽고 어렵긴 하지만 수강 후 실제 알고자 하는 것을 정확히 알 수 있었으며 임상에서 적용할 수 있을 것 같다는 결과를 얻었다. 또한 PBL의 교과적용은 학습목표와 계획을 수립하고 문제를 해결하는 과정에서 다양한 학습방법습득이 가능하다는 측면에서 자기주도적 학습태도 습득에 기여한다고 사료된다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 PBL방법의 교과적용은 학습자들의 흥미유발과 학습만족도를 높이며, 자기주도적 학습태도 습득을 높이는데 기여 가능하다는 결과를 도출했다.
