Mathematical tasks have a significant impact on students' cognitive levels and activities during math classes. These tasks require students to demonstrate specific cognitive levels during problem-solving. In this study, a set of mathematics tasks with varying levels of cognitive demand were presented, restructured for elementary school students, and analyzed for their perceived characteristics related to perception, problem-solving, and transformation. The study found that the majority of students were able to effectively identify the cognitive demands of the given tasks, successfully solve problems, and even transform them into new challenges. Moreover, the study identified the criteria used by students to assess cognitive demand levels and recognized types of tasks perceived as having higher cognitive demands. Based on these insights, the study suggests pedagogical implications to be applied in classrooms.

수학 과제는 수업 중 학생들의 학습에 큰 영향을 미치며, 각각의 과제는 학생들에 게 특정한 인지적 수준을 요구한다. 본 연구는 다양한 수준의 인지적 요구를 가진 수학 과제를 초등학생들에게 맞게 재구성한 예제를 제시하고, 이에 따른 인식, 해 결 및 변형의 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 대부분의 학생들이 주어진 예제의 인 지적 요구 수준을 파악하고 문제를 해결하고 새로운 문제로 변형하였다. 또한, 학 생들이 인지적 요구 수준을 판단하는 기준과 인지적 요구 수준이 높다고 생각하는 유형을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 기반으로 수학 수업에 적용할 수 있는 교수학적 시 사점을 제안하였다.
