This study is The Hongcheon area is located in the middle of Gangwon-do in a rectangular shape from east to west, so due to its geopolitical location, the folk song area can be divided through the characteristics of the mountainous area and the field area. “Somoneun-Sori” is one of the representative folk songs of the Gangwon region and is a folk song that shows the characteristics of the Gangwon region well. In the Gangwon area, there is also a “hori” drawn by one cow, but two cows often used a “kyeori” drawn by a plow, which is a characteristic of the Gangwon area, which is difficult to find in other provinces. Since “Somoneun-Sori” has the characteristics of a typical Eastern folk song of Menaritori, it is difficult to distinguish various types of “Somoneun-Sori” with the tune. This can be distinguished through key words such as “bau(rock)”, “bangdaengi(hip)”, “deomble(bushes)”, and “maru(floor)”, which indicate the situation of making cattle in the lyrics. “Somoneun-Sori” which is widely distributed in the Hongcheon area, was designated as Gangwon-do's 33rd Intangible Cultural Property as “Gyeori Agricultural Culture” in 2021. In the future, it is hoped that the value of intangible cultural heritage will be led in a sustainable direction through transmission in life and the competence of the singer.

홍천 지역은 강원도의 중간에 동서로 긴 장방형의 모양으로 위치하고 있다. 이러한 지정학적 위치로 산간지역과 들지역의 특징을 통해 <논매는소리>를 중심으로 민요권역을 나눌 수 있다. <소모는소리>는 강원 지역의 특성을 잘 나타내는 강원 지역의 대표적 민요 중 하나이다. 강원 지역은 한 마리 소로 끄는 ‘호리’도 있지만 두 마리의 소가 쟁기를 끄는 ‘겨리’를 이용한 경우가 많으며 이는 타도에서는 발견하기 어려운 강원 지역의 특징이다. <소모는소리>는 메나리토리의 전형적인 동부민요의 특성을 가지므로 곡조로는 다양한 <소모는소리>의 종류를 구분하기 어렵다. 노랫말 속에 소를 부리는 상황을 나타내는 바우, 방뎅이, 덤불, 마루 등의 핵심 어를 통해서 구분할 수 있다. 홍천지역에 널리 분포하고 있는 <소모는소리>는 2021년 ‘겨리농경문화’로 강원도 제33호 무형문화재로 지정되었다. 앞으로 생 활 속의 전승과 소리꾼의 역량 걍화 등을 통해 무형문화유산적 가치를 지속가능 한 방향으로 이끌기를 바란다.
