This study aims for figuring out the longitudinal-reciprocal relationship between Classroom Engagement and Learning Motivation: intrinsic and extrinsic. 22 students among the 3rd grade of elementary school in Sejong City as its subjects answered to 5-point scale offline questionnaire carried out on the 2nd and the 4th week of May 2022. The above questionnaire analyzed by using the SPSS statistic program: Descriptive statistic, Pearson’s co-relation analysis, and Regression analysis, resulted in as follows: Firstly, only between Classroom Engagement and Intrinsic Motivation, the meaningful static co-relation turned up. Secondly, Classroom Engagement and Intrinsic Motivation identified themselves with self–regression. Thirdly, Classroom Engagement and Intrinsic Motivation proved to show mutually meaningful effects, but nothing influential happened between Classroom Engagement and Extrinsic Motivation. Coming to a conclusion, this study suggests that Early Classroom Engagement is important for making its good circle, and Intrinsic Motivation should be emphasized, not Extrinsic.

본 연구는 초등교육에서 중요하게 다뤄지고 있는 수업 참여와 학습동기(내재 적 동기, 외재적 동기)의 종단적 상호영향 관계를 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 세종특별자치시 초등학생 3학년 22명이며, 2022년 5월 2주와 4주 에 5점 척도 설문지를 오프라인으로 투입하였다. 설문 결과는 SPSS 통계프로그 램을 활용하여 기술통계, Pearson 적률상관분석, 단순회귀분석을 실시하여 분석 하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 수업 참여와 내재적 동기 간에서만 유의한 정적 상관 관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 수업 참여와 내재적 동기는 자기회귀성이 확인되었다. 셋째, 수업 참여와 내재적 동기는 상호 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으 나, 수업 참여와 외재적 동기는 상호 유의미한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났 다. 이러한 결과는 수업 참여의 선순환적인 구조를 위하여 조기의 수업 참여가 중요함을 시사하며, 수업에서 학생들의 참여를 높이기 위해서는 외재적 동기가 아닌 내재적 동기를 강조해야 함을 제시한다.
