The purpose of this article is to reinterpret Augustine's teachings on the right life from the point of view of correction. Focusing on the contents of his books De Magistro, De Doctrina Christiana, and De Catechizandis Rudibus, he discusses the right direction of life and the meaning of correction. The contents of this article were as follows. First, Augustine's view on correction could be discussed in connection with his educational thought. Second, his theory of correction was related to the problem of his self-awareness. Therefore, it took on the character of an epistemological discussion. Third, the characteristics of his correction theory emphasized the practice of communication, motivation, and love. The results of this article were as follows. First, the way of correction that Augustine thought was actually the content of confessing himself who was conflicted between right and wrong. Second, it was a story of being reborn as a new human being through the process of repenting for his sins. Third, Augustine's discussion of the role of the teacher (external teacher) could be reinterpreted in relation to the current correction theory.

이 글의 목적은 아우구스티누스가 생각하는 올바른 삶에 관한 가르침을 교정(correction, 矯正)의 관점에서 재해석을 시도한다. 그의 저서 『교사론』과 『그리스도교 교양』 그리고 『입문자 교육 론』의 내용을 중심으로 하여 올바른 삶의 방향과 교정의 의미를 논의한다. 이 글의 내용은 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 아우구스티누스의 교정 에 관한 견해는 그의 교육사상과 연계하여 논의할 수 있었다. 둘 째, 그의 교정이론은 자기 깨달음의 문제와 관련되어 있었다. 따 라서 인식론적 논의의 성격을 띠었다. 셋째, 그의 교정이론의 특 징은 의사소통과 동기유발 그리고 사랑의 실천을 중시했다. 이 글의 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 아우구스티누스가 생각 하는 교정의 길은 올바름과 그릇됨 사이에서 갈등했던 자기 삶 을 고백하는 내용이었다. 둘째, 그 자신이 죄를 회개하는 과정을 통해 새로운 인간으로 재탄생하는 논의였다. 셋째, 그가 교육사 상에서 언급하는 교사(외적 교사)의 역할에 대한 논의는 현재의 교정이론과 관련하여 재해석할 가능성이 있었다.
