In the general discussion of the curriculum, the problem awareness of Korean traditional ideology and national identity is gradually disappearing. In the national curriculum of history, current values s u ch as the environment and democratic citizenship education are being emphasized rather than the pre-modern identity or traditional ideology. In this trend, it is difficult to increase the number of hours assigned to history in the reality that various demands such as software education and A.I. education are raised. In this regard, it is expected that Silhak education will be further weakened in the future. In order to develop Silhak education, new considerations are needed that go beyond the previous problem of subjective modernization. Silhak and the conceptual history of Silhak can be connected to the substantialization of socially required humanities literacy education. It is also necessary to consider the method of practical education that is appropriate for the level of the student. The necessity of national identity education and accompanying traditional culture education also needs to be put on the agenda. In addition, as an elective subject, it is necessary to prepare subjects that can deal with the history of Korean thought and practice as the goal of the next curriculum.

실학은 해방 이후의 교육에서 주체적 근대화라는 문제의식과 연관되어 매 우 강조되었다. 민족 주체성을 강조하던 70년대 이후에는 조선후기사 연구 및 교육의 핵심적 주제였으며, 교육에 대한 국가·사회적 요구를 반영하는 교 육과정 총론에서도 실학과 연결되는 문제의식이 표현되었다. 최근 교육과정 총론에서 한국의 전통 사상이나 국민 정체성에 대한 문제의식은 점점 사라지 고 있다. 역사과 교육과정에서도 전근대를 포함하는 정체성이나 전통 사상 등이 아닌 환경이나 민주시민교육 등의 현재적 가치가 강조되는 추세이다. 이러한 추세 속에서 소프트웨어 교육이나 인공지능 교육 등 다양한 요구가 제기되는 현실에서 역사에 배정될 시수가 늘기 어렵다. 교과서 서술에는 현 재의 연구 성과와 맞지 않는 오진술이 많고 학교급간 차별성도 없다. 이러한 점에서 실학 교육은 앞으로도 더 약화될 것으로 전망된다. 실학 교육을 발전시키기 위해서는 주체적 근대화라는 이전의 문제의식 을 뛰어넘는 새로운 고민이 필요하다. 사회적으로 요구되는 인문학적 소양 교육의 내실화에 실학 및 실학 개념사를 연결할 수 있다. 학생의 수준 에 맞는 실학 교육의 방법도 고민해야 한다. 초등교사의 양성과정을 고려한 교육 내용 및 방법의 선정도 필요하다. 국민 정체성 교육 및 그에 수반 되는 전통 문화 교육의 필요성도 의제로 제시할 필요가 있다. 아울러 선택 과목으로 한국 사상사와 실학을 다룰 수 있는 과목을 차기 교육과정을 목 표로 준비하는 것도 필요하다.
