AI impact assessment is one of the guidelines for the AI application process, and is used as a policy tool to evaluate the social impact of the AI system in the stage before application. This study provide a systematic review of the latest research of AI impact assessment. For this purpose, we selected international papers focusing on AI impact assessment from 2016 to 2021 and conducted a systematic literature review and content analysis. We found three aspects of AI impact assessment. First, existing studies have attempted to academic conceptualize AI impact assessment. Second, existing studies analyzed and evaluated institutionalized cases of Al impact assessment. Finally, they present policy recommendations for the effective application of the impact assessment in practice. Our research introduces the recent research fields that is rare in South Korea and suggests new research opportunities on AI impact assessment.

AI 영향평가는 AI 적용 과정을 위한 지침 중 하나이고, AI 시스템을 적용하기 이전 단계에서 그 시스템 의 사회적 영향을 평가하는 정책도구로 활용된다. 본 연구는 AI 영향평가 관련 연구의 최근 동향을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 2016년부터 2021년까지 AI 영향평가에 초점을 맞춘 15개의 국외 연구를 선정하여 문 헌 검토와 내용분석을 수행했다. 분석 결과는 세 가지로 요약해 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 기존 연구들은 AI 영향평가에 관한 학술적 개념화를 시도했다. 둘째, 기존 연구들은 Al 영향평가의 법제화 사례를 분석하고 평가했다. 마지막으 로 AI 영향평가의 실효적 도입방안을 위해 필요한 정책제언을 제시했다. 본 연구는 그동안 국내에 소개가 부족했 던 AI 영향평가의 국외 연구 동향을 분석함으로써 국내 AI 영향평가 연구에 새로운 기회를 제공했다는 점, 국내 에 AI 규제에 대한 구체적 정책 수단을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
