Based on empirical date investigating adolescent immigrants, this study examined the factors influencing the sense of school belonging of adolescent immigrants focusing on the cultural dissonance hypothesis and cultural adaptation hypothesis. The analysis results of the survey data of 279 cases of adolescent immigrants are as follows. First, adolescent immigrants who participated in this study showed relatively high sense of school belonging and relatively low on the cultural adaptation stress. Second, the lower the parental support, the higher the sense of school belonging. This results indicates that when the parental support is low, it forms an alternative relationship with social support in school. In addition, if the relationship with school teachers and friends is good, the sense of school belonging increases. This results supports the cultural adaptation hypothesis. Third, cultural adaptation stress also affects the sense of school belonging negatively, and it supports the cultural dissonance hypothesis. Lastly, the importance of the school system was emphasized as the sense of school belonging of adolescent immigrants is irrelevant to the gender, age, duration of residence in Korea, and parents' economical resources of adolescent immigrants. Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that practical intervention is necessary to increase the sense of school belongingool of adolescent immigrants.

본 연구는 중도입국청소년를 조사한 실증자료를 바탕으로 중도입국청소년의 학교 소속감에 영향을 미치는 요인을 문화부조화가설과 문화적응가설을 중심으로 분석하 였다. 전체 279명의 중도입국청소년에 대한 설문조사 내용을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에 참여한 중도입국청소년들의 학교소속감 수준은 척도중간값 보다 높 았고 반면에, 문화적응스트레스 수준은 중간값 보다 낮았다. 둘째, 부모의 지지가 낮을 수록 학교소속감은 높게 나타나, 부모의 지지가 낮은 경우 학교에서 사회적 지지를 얻 는 대체적 관계를 형성하는 것으로 파악되었다. 반면, 교사와 학교친구와의 관계가 좋 으면 학교소속감이 높아지는 것으로 나타나 문화적응가설을 지지한다. 셋째. 문화적응 스트레스도 학교소속감에 부적영향을 미쳐 문화부조화가설을 지지한다. 마지막으로 학교소속감은 중도입국청소년의 성별·연령·한국 내 거주기간·부모의 경제적 자원과 무 관하게 나타나 학교시스템의 중요성이 부각되었다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 중도입국 청소년의 학교소속감을 높이기 위한 실천적 개입에 함의를 도출하였다.
