In the 1980s, a new movement arose under the name of Philosophische Praxis/Philosophical Counseling to overcome the practical difficulties of philosophy in the Western philosophical world. This is a movement to overcome the gap between philosophy and reality and to philosophize in life as Socrates did. In Korea, under this influence, an activity called Philosophische Praxis/ Philosophical Counseling is being developed. However, it is still limited to research and education at the theoretical level. This is due to the insufficient establishment of identity in Philosophische Praxis/Philosophical Counseling, and the identity problem is directly related to the methodology of philosophical counseling. To overcome this stagnant state, this study examines the philosophy of Socrates, the originator of philosophical counseling, and examines the position of Raabe, one of the leading researchers of philosophical counseling. Using this as a medium, I would like to discuss how the method of philosophical counseling should be and how the identity of philosophical counseling should be established. Raabe sees philosophical education as an important basis for establishing the identity of philosophical counseling.

1980년대 서구 철학계에서 철학의 현실적 어려움을 극복하고자 철학실천/철학상담이 라는 이름 아래 새로운 움직임이 일어났다. 이는 철학과 현실의 괴리를 극복하고 소크라테 스가 했듯이 삶 속에서 철학하려는 운동이다. 국내에도 이런 영향으로 철학실천/철학상담 이란 활동이 전개되고 있다. 그러나 여전히 이론 차원의 연구와 교육에 머물고 있다. 이는 철학실천/철학상담의 정체성 확립이 충분하지 못한 데서 기인하며 정체성 문제는 곧바로 철학상담의 방법론과 밀접하게 연관된다. 이 같은 답보상태를 극복하고자 본 연구는 철학 상담의 원조인 소크라테스의 철학하기를 살펴보고 철학상담의 주도적 연구자 중 한 사람 인 라베의 입장을 살펴본다. 이를 매개로 하여 철학상담의 방법이 어떠해야하는지 또 철학 상담의 정체성이 어떻게 확립되어야 하는지 논구한다. 라베는 철학교육을 철학상담의 정 체성 확립에 중요한 근간이라고 본다.
